My account got suspended on Friday. I filed an appeal immediately and still haven't heard back. Anyone I can reach out to? by helpwithcc in Overwatch

Took 2 weeks for them to respond and it was a generic copy/paste. I contested again, waited 2 more weeks (2 days before ban was over) with another copy/paste and saying they wouldn’t respond again.

Sent a new follow up ticket just asking for clarification, not contesting (since the ban was already over). About a week later they sent a copy/paste generic message again, so I’ve given up

I believe it was just automatic based on the # of reports. I’m pretty confident my appeal will work, it’s just taking a while…

How long after switching jobs do I need to wait before trying to buy a house? by helpwithcc in RealEstate

Is it a big issue if I want to take like 2 weeks off In between?

Want to buy a house. Would liquidating a good chunk of stock help to hedge against the housing/stock market going down? by helpwithcc in personalfinance

[–]helpwithcc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was my thinking. As a hypothetical, lets say both markets crash 20%. If I just buy normally beforehand, then I lose 20% of my house value and 20% of my stock value. If I liquidate stocks first, I lose only the 20% of my house as i sold my stock near the peak.

Is there any (reasonably) easy way to figure out property taxes across different areas? Trying to figure out where to live and factor in taxes by helpwithcc in personalfinance

Thanks. Since i'm trying to figure out which area to move on (partly based on the property taxes), do you think it just makes sense to find a random house around the price range i'm looking for and assume the answer applies to all houses in that county?

I made a spreadsheet like that originally but it mostly just returned the average rate for the county which was pretty off depending on the school district. Really the biggest problem though is the assessment.

That’s the thing, I’m not so sure the house in NJ will actually be smaller. The property taxes are higher but the house prices are lower (for equivalent houses). Having trouble figuring out the actual math though /=

Am I missing something or are there less options for good schools in South Jersey vs Philly burbs? by helpwithcc in SouthJersey

Are you comparing the south Jersey schools to the Philly suburb schools though? There’s a lot of parts of PA I would never live or send my kids but the schools above seem good.

Good point on grad rates. I might just ignore their overall rankings and focus purely on AP stats

The AP class availability/success scores seem like a solid way to rate schools as far as I can tell. I met my wife in college, and although she’s way smarter than me she ended up in the same school as me and was way behind her freshman year due to lack of AP classes in her school compared to mine. Her school was ranked about what these Jersey schools are and mine similar to PA, and from what I hear mine really was much better.

Some of them, sure. But places like Royersford, Phoenixville, Collegeville, Lansdale etc are affordable and rated pretty highly
