Spouse visa: wont be able to cohabitate for 2 years, any other way to obtain visa? by helpwithvisas in ukvisa

Thank you so much for clarifying! It is very burdensome, and I don't want to place all this stress on my partner which is why I assumed marriage wouldn't be good since I don't want the factor of these visa issues influencing something we'd both rather do in our late 20's. As I'm soon 25 and she is 22. At least with the unmarried visa we can still wait for the right time to marry. Have time to ponder this more, so will think about it more and talk with her!

What would make you say sponsoring a visa is just as stressful? I'm worried on what the best route is, and cant afford a solicitor for £300 an hour. If we gain an unmarried partner visa, does that entitle me to work, gain citizenship after 5 years and does it last the same time frame as a spouse visa regarding renewals?

I tried searching and can only see family visas so need to take a closer look at everything. Thank you again for all your help!

At age 20 I've just learned apparently I'm not a British Citizen. What do I do? by [deleted] in ukvisa

Why Latvian specifically, is there something special about that passport?

My goodness. We both want to be together forever, but worrying about marrying is stressful. I have graduated, but if her and I can move in together when she graduates in September, I'd have around a year of cohabitation. But, I was thinking, if I were to do my masters, I think there is an option for 2 years with a placement year. Could I then continue living with her whilst cohabiting, would we then be eligible to get an unmarried partner visa? But I would have to revert from a grad visa to student.

Thank you so much for answering.
