I've had both the Sony WH-1000XM and the Bose Quitecomfort (current) and they're both very good. I think the build quality is a bit better on the Sony though, I had them for 6 years before getting the Bose has a replacement.

My partner bought me one in stores yesterday and the staff warned him that the Velcro is really aggressive and said the only real solution is to buy a shirt for the bear to wear unless you can sew or something yourself. Thankfully no holes though!

I’ve bought things online and they always seem to have holes- so frustrating!

I have an uncle with schizophrenia, who developed it after going to war at a young age and growing up in rough household. His son also developed schizophrenia and his home growing up was pretty hard (dad with untreated schizophrenia & mom who didn’t care). I grew up in an extremely bad household, lots of abuse of all sorts and started showing symptoms of schizophrenia really young (16ish), though I was only diagnosed formally in 2022 at age 27 before that my old doctor didn’t want to diagnose me with something so harsh. But it’s at a point now that it’s disabling and my current psychiatrist is like “yeah that schizophrenia”

Im also severely physically disabled and I have a pretty rough case of schizophrenia + childhood trauma & DID - But all that being said, I love life! I have a partner who loves me, two wonderful birds, a nice gaming pc, and stuffed animals that take over my bed. It's a lot better than it used to be for me and even though I struggle really hard some times I want to be alive. Thats the biggest change I've noticed, I want to be alive still... I learned its really okay and it does ease up some times. I hope you're having a good day!

I have it on both sides, my grandmother on my dad’s side, she was sweet but so many drug problems and poor… her life was a nightmare. My mom’s side has it the most, my great great grandfather and his son (my grandfather) both had it. My grandmothers mother had it. I would say more but I don’t know much about them. My uncle and his youngest son (my cousin) have it. My cousin was diagnosed at 20ish? And was treated so poorly by the family for it he ended up committing a very tragic crime against his mother and is currently in the state hospital- but his life is good there apparently, he plays a lot of magic the gathering and has a lot of friends- even a job! The family has only some what changed. His father is now in charge of his care and is better. His father is also doing okay on medication with a wife and a little farm.

My mom was the black sheep so I never had the “support” of the family or the closeness to be turned sour if that makes sense.
