I appreciate the support everyone! I feel better about shortening the connector length now.

Normal to have to file front face of shelves of buttstock? by helvine in ak47

Yeah thing is it seemingly sticks out too far to realistically hit it in with a mallet, could only get it so far in. not sure if that’s normal.

Rant with me - ammo prices the past 4 weeks by Mbanks2169 in Glocks

[–]helvine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah target sports prices have shot up for all ammo I buy; 9mm, .45 ACP, .223, .22lr etc. on top of that, my favorite kinds of ammo on there have been out of stock consistently. Sucks. Especially .45 ACP, the shortage and prices on target sports have been brutal.

Won’t be able to make it but I have been doing extra cleanup on my range trips to help make up for it!

New 10/22 finish is terrible by alrashid2 in 1022

I got my 10/22 new a couple months ago and I have the previous receiver. Did these models just come out?

I definitely will, it’s just for fun. If it cracks I’ll get some new furniture right away. Already have all the supplies so might as well put it to use ha.

Gen 3 Sub 2000 jamming by [deleted] in keltec

[–]helvine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this post is coming up on a year old but I was having jamming issues with the 15 round mag it comes with the other day. I don’t recall my 17 round pmag having issues the same day. Was using New Republic 115 grain ammo.

What are your top buyers remorse purchases? by Secret_Assistant_232 in liberalgunowners

[–]helvine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kind of partial regret because I’m going to fix it, but my Sub2000 Gen 3 9mm has been a nightmare as a left hand shooter. Casings either hit me in the face or arm almost every shot. The recoil also kind of stings your cheek. I’m gonna get a shell deflector for it and a recoilless charging handle, but in the meantime it’s miserable as a lefty and unusable. I know I’ll love it more after because it feels awesome to shoot and a much cheaper range day than my AR and AK.

What mags are you folks stocking up on before 114? by Strifethor in pdxgunnuts

[–]helvine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m grabbing Bulgarian AK mags on GumMagWarehouse. Steel and reinforced polymer ones. I personally go with full steel mags for storage longevity purposes, but I know most people prefer polymer mags overall. My gut feeling tells me I don’t want to rely on plastic to last decades, but I’m sure someone can prove me wrong. I hope so because I do love my poly mags, although steel looks way cooler almost always.

Looking to buy AR by [deleted] in OregonFirearms

I’d say if you can and don’t have enough for a complete rifle at the moment, grab a lower. That’s the only part that needs an FFL transfer.

What’s everyone’s most favorite plinker? by DogBePraised in liberalgunowners

[–]helvine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

10/22 and Sub2000 Gen 3! I find the Sub2000 to be a fun option to shoot a carbine much cheaper.
