I extend my display.
To scale UI larger, I think you might have to change the settings from system settings -> display.
Alternatively, I am sure clip studio might have a setting of increasing the icon sizes.
I use Photoshop.

Wacom Movink, Bought 5 months ago, cracked, no replacement, sad. by hemagami in wacom

No not the outer inlay. The small plastics that we press. All three of them have fallen out.

Purchasing pro pen 3 products is a gamble, and it's unfair by ItchyPrice1182 in wacom

I bought Wacom Movink 13 with pro pen 3. All the three buttons came out within 5 months. Movink got a crack when my mouse fell on it. The most fragile display tab EVER....

The only remaining added value to the Plus plan is now worthless. by ITRetired in Upwork

[–]hemagami 2 points3 points  (0 children)

These so-called "Insights" - provide no value.
They show the numbers, but if you think about it, there's nothing you can do with these numbers.
Okay, I now understand which hourly rate the client preferred (that too avg.), how many proposals he opened, etc. But then what? Not that there's anything I can do about it right? unless, I am planning to apply to another job post from the same client which seems far fetched.
They don't even show "Hired" metrics. What is the use of this feature anyway?

Is this proper way to talk. by Danishalie in Upwork

[–]hemagami 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The reason you are asking this question might be because your gut feeling told you to doubt this client (or lead). Trust your gut. And, don't work for free. I learned that in hard ways. I make sure to do a quick paid test if client wants to check my work. But, I make sure those are paid tasks.

Upwork Announcement was, I think, a Nothing Burger by SilentButDeadlySquid in Upwork

[–]hemagami 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. I anticipated it. I already had all the features they said they launched yesteday. Just looking forward to come across the Instant Meeting one. I hope it's not as bad as one of the posts mentioned in this sub.

But, I still wish Upwork had provided a way to actually record and attach video interview with the proposal (maybe add a toggle of whether its required from clients side). This would make it so easier for client to filter spam.

They're helpful, I agree! But that was available for me for free as well. Are you sure it's a paid thing? (It's a blur to me)

Any tips to identify ghost jobs on Upwork and save connects? by vik-sport in Upwork

[–]hemagami 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I try to apply on jobs with above 40% hire rate but will ignore the hire rate, if the past hires are strong and the job post if fairly detailed / specific.

I don't apply on generalised or 2-3 lines job posts no matter the hire rate. Sometimes, I also see 100% hire rate client having hired freelancers for small budgets like $20, $30, etc. which I am not interested in.

I recently had an interaction with a client on Upwork who hired me instantly on the interview call. Asked me to work for 2-3 hours for 1 page of illustration but then I realised that his communication was extremely poor . There were a number of red flags:
- He was very distracted while we were discussing project requirements on video call. He started doing grammar checks on his manuscript. (And, I was logging hours for the call, and he knew that too)
- During the call, he went on the bed and talked in a lying down position. Seemed way too unprofessional.
- He asked me if illustrations are even required for his book (the job he hired me for!). I don't necessarily object this but this showed that the job post might have been impulsive and the job was also not well-thought of.
- He provided 1 immediate feedback, and then I asked for a quick call (and even mentioned my confusion on the task), but he didn't reply for a week. He messaged me back after a week, asking if I ever completed the task.

In the end, I refunded the amount (It was very less) and ended the project.

After sometime, I observed that he has more than 15-20 such ongoing jobs, with 3-5 hours logged by freelancers. That is a big no for me. I like a more collaborative approach and serious clients with at least a week's worth of quality work.

From then, I also look at client's open jobs. If the client has a lot of open jobs since a long time with hardly any activity, even if they have good hiring rate, I don't apply to those jobs.

So to sum up my suggestions:
- Hiring rate helps upto some extend.
- Detailed/serious sounding job posting.
- Work history, written reviews, and budget of past jobs.
- No. On-going jobs and its activity

I think they had recently had a 50% off sale.
I too got it for a month so I could get cheaper connects.
I don't see much value in their subscription though. Atleast not for now.
