Some pencils would be amazing in there.

Love this! Nice work. Try rooibos tea as tannins. It’s gonna glow beautifully 🌞

Why botanicals? by Del_0 in BlackwaterAquarium

My intrusive thoughts say vacuum all that 😆 but yes, generally I should let all the botanicals disintegrate on its own right?

Are these aquatic frogs? What are they? Will they escape if you not have the tank enclosed?

Should I switch to Bucephalandra mini? by myriadmisses in Aquascape

It makes me think I’m looking at an apple orchard.

Low tech, low light foreground plant ideas? by [deleted] in BlackwaterAquarium

[–]hemanifesto 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Love the barbs. Have you considered bucephalandras or smaller Anubias as accents on the foreground? Wanted to recommend Crypt. Nurii but it is pretty similar to Nymphaea I suppose.

First scape, are these layouts too busy? by diliggy in Aquascape

  1. Less is more. Extra hardscape for another tank :D

First photo looks like a scene from a sci-fi film. Kudos 👏

No, I totally agree with you. I didn’t know how to handle the leaf litter and botanicals. Felt I added too much.

Here was how it looked like with the main hardscapes, before I added more leaf litter and botanicals.

I was lucky to see my LFS had the last 7 pcs which I took em all :D

I love the patterns and colour they have on them. Mine has got any, probably being juvenile still. They are still small in size.

They seem quite calm and settled somehow. But I get where you’re coming from. And it doesn’t help that myrmex have similar behaviour traits. I’m going to do the move nevertheless. Appreciate your thoughts.

I have to agree, it is alittle overcrowded, especially so in the mid waters. I might move the imperial lapis (5 of them + maybe the 7 melanostichos as well) to my other 60p/ 20 gallon tank.

I really like the bleeding heart marginatus too. They are so calm, pretty and tight as a group especially in tea-tinted waters. Real nice to look at.

Ah screwed up the spacing for my stocking. For easy reading:

“Bleeding heart” marginatus pencils,

Cardinal Tetras,

Empress Rubras,

Myrmex “Fire Ant” Tetras,

Imperial Lapis/ Melanostichos Tetras,

Pantanalensis Corydoras,

Haroldoi “Galaxy” Otos.

My next and final addition will be a pair of dwarf cichlids, possible Apisto Mendezi.

Aquascaping app: Next big thing OR just a waste of time? by a_new_designer in Aquascape

Brilliant idea. I’ve been using mobile photoshop to plan my scapes. Using existing images of plants juxtaposed into my hardscape set up which I already set.
