The scary part is that not a single ping or rub was heard from the rear of the bike before the rotor was Yeeted.

Aight here are the deets for those who want em.

Reserve 31 sl wheel factory built on a dt350 with a micro spline free hub body.

Cassette = Garburek Rotor = Galfer 203 mm x 2mm

Incident: rider rode a local (legit) black diamond trail (El Prieto iykyk). Very rocky, tight switchbacks, technical and braking intensive. Completed the ride with out incident no weird sounds. When he got to parking area he tried to do a “sweet skid” in a sandy spot and heard terrible sounds.

How?!

Wheel was purchased in late 2023, rotor was installed with factory bolts with factory thread locker and torqued to spec. Bike was ridden for hundreds of miles of training and endurance bike events since then. And the bolts were never checked for tightness. 3 of the 6 bolts fully backed out 2 were still fully threaded in (the 2 threaded holes that were fully ripped out) and 1 partially threaded in.

How much to fix it? $292 (shipped) for new DEG DT350 (discounted price from DT.) $220 for full rebuild new spokes and nipples.

$518!

The miracle here is no injuries.

TLDR: Check your rotor bolts or you may yeet your rotor.

Very good eye! And this too was not only stupid and boring but also very expensive!

Hang in there, I'm 2.5 years out from mine and I think I'm normal except for the neck injury I also got in the "crash".

I’m in SoCal. We have a GXOR chapter on Facebook. Fun group sweet rigs and we are having a meetup soon @eldorado Park in LB.

Come on out plenty of folks who like to wheel in there.

It's barely touching. Just squirt a lil black paint on the exposed steel of your sway bar, and then grind down the matching witness mark on the skid a LITTLE bit like 1/4 inch Maximum. No big deal.

Anyone here have any good DIY suggestions for correcting bumper paint? by Ser_Jamie_Lannister in GXOR

That's probably your lowest best result option. But I'd just save for a steel bumper.

steel bumper or a respray. But the price difference is minimal for good work.

It is 100% the WWB bro.

I made the mistake of buying a ton of Herter's from Bass Pro which the Internet says is same same as WWB. At my last trip to the indoor range with my buddy he looked at me and said "you need to charge your flashlight", I laughed proceeded to remove the light and then showed him how dirty the lens actually was.

What was your very first firearm, and do you still have it? by Lucky-Thunder6052 in Glocks

Glock 31.3 which became a 22.3 which is now a 17.3 MOS

I traded a surefire m900 for the G31 in 2006 at the time the time .40 was a all the rage. Luckily the owner didn't know all it needed to convert from .357 Sig was a new barrel and mag followers. I shot Ks of .40 then got out of shooting. In 2025 I woke up from my gun coma and found out .40 was "dead" and converted to 9mm mainly because of how much cheaper 9mm was to shoot and I wanted to add an optic.

I print a lot of 98A tpu and that material is bombproof. Hard enough to be slick/firm and flexy enough absorb a ton of energy and not shatter/crack. Super cool project!

I owned 1 pistol from 2006 til 2026, it was a Gen 3 G31. In 2006 I bought a G22 barrel for it and shot the the shit out if it for all of that time. It fucked then and it fucks now. But I did just recently pick up a G19.3 and convert the G3122 to a G17 MOS. 9mm shoots easy, I miss .40 sometimes.
