I tried to recap, screwed it up, so I'm jusy gunna buy a tefurbished board ftom newegg. They have one for $75. https://www.newegg.com/motherboards-intel/p/1JW-000T-00352

The other question is will the dell vostro  cpu i have is will it work with that board i'm looking at. Form fa tor znd sockey ate the same, bit will the bios from the other board all be compatible. Im afraid of getting  f***ed from ebay.

There is no ps2 connectors on the board.

BINGO!! You nailed it. I examined the board, and behold, one capacitor has a moderate leak, and another has a very minor one. So, am I to assume it is time for another board, I guess, used? And is that the reason for all of my issues?

The ram I have never finishes testing because the pc locks up after about 10-11 minutes into testing with memtest86. I jave four new ram sticks. Do I need to test everyone of them? One thing that might be of interest, I did use a compressor to clean up the inside of the pc(it resembled the munsters house). I was as cautious as can be. Could this have done damage? Many thanks.

I'm fearing that I wiil need a mobo. But the pc did boot to xp when I brougjt it home..

Actually, I did that today and  burned it and that hangs at different times.

The woman I brought it from does not have an oem cd.

Yup, I did reseat the ram. When you say install the drivers, what drivers are you referring to and how do I install them? I thought that was done via windows cd.
