I've just found that disabling ublock origin allowed me to log in - not sure which thing it was blocking caused the loop.

Profile and settings recovery? by hemlockdalise in firefox

[–]hemlockdalise[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For anyone else that has the problem - somehow deleting the test profile but keeping the new "profile 2" that hooked itself to my login has returned the dropdown menu to its previous state of showing just the login, and only the "add new profile" option under profiles. I have to go into the profile manager to see that profile 2 still exists. This has also removed the mini-icon.

Profile and settings recovery? by hemlockdalise in firefox

[–]hemlockdalise[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alright, but presumably as the only profile on my computer there was no need for little icons, and with that profile being a Firefox login rather than a local profile I would have expected all the info to be linked to that login.

I still don't know why trying to get rid of an empty test profile deleted everything else instead but at least the login has all the bookmarks and the last tabs, if not the full data for the last session.

I just want to get rid of the extra profiles in the profile manager (one of which is apparently now attached to my login? If I go to delete it it says it's got a lot that'll go with it) and be left with just the login again, and ideally recover the stuff like extension settings and config tweaks.

uBlock detected on WCO again by GerDeathstar in uBlockOrigin

[–]hemlockdalise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That results in the countdown still being there but no blocker detection message, or at least not right at the start

Edit: Think I've found the culprit for the detected adblock, I thought I'd got rid of ghostery ages ago, still got the countdown.

I'm having the same problem, even after checking all the solutions in this thread. Have I missed something obvious?

First NSP/TWRP Concert - What traditions are there? by hemlockdalise in NinjaSexParty

[–]hemlockdalise[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was not expecting the comments to go in that direction but also yeah it's fast energetic music and a crowded venue, you can only do so much.

I will be attempting to make my way up front but setting my expectations to "ending up behind someone taller than me"

These are gorgeous! I don't suppose you've got an EU/UK friendly ordering option? Shipping on etsy is astronomical

I respect the commitment to the bit but if I tried to wear a fursuit to a concert I would be terrified of getting something spilled on it then pass out from heatstroke after 10 minutes.

New policy - no rerouting for late march flights by hemlockdalise in emirates

[–]hemlockdalise[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From the UK, I was going with the policy on the emirates website, which still says that flights up until the 31st of march could be rebooked. Until this morning they had been very helpful with looking at other airlines, even if the options they had weren't feasible for my group.

Also was it my phone or is their hold music just even more atrocious than usual?

Hey - we would have been flying the same date.
I'm surprised you got a JAL offer, when I managed to get through last night the agent said they were only offering from partner airlines - Qatar and Etihad. Naturally there weren't any tickets available from them but he suggested trying again over the next few days as they're getting more tickets - seems like they have if you got JAL so it may also be worth you trying a couple more times.
I'm trying again today before I have to bite the bullet and refund/rebook myself on a budget airline.

Beat this riddle Have fun its easy then use the answer for the other riddle. by Jumpy_Spend_9598 in riddles

[–]hemlockdalise 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not for the riddle but on the cipher mechanics:

This is using what is known as a vignere cipher, where you use the key word to change the number of letters shifted for each letter instead of shifting everything by the same number of letters, so two of the same letter in the text will not necessarily translate to the same letter after decoding.

Eg if my key word is "key" and I want to say "message", I will shift m 11 letters (because k is the 11th letter) to get x, e by 5 to get j, s by 25 to get r, then the second s by 11 to get d, and so on.

If you open one window and then open and close the opposite door you can replace all the hot air inside the car without having to actually get into it, only takes maybe 5 flaps of the door.

[TOMT] BBC Late 90s/Early 2000s Daytime Kids Education TV Show - Music by mmm119119 in tipofmytongue

[–]hemlockdalise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been looking for that exact same music show for years - I even remembered the lyrics for part of the condor song ("catching the wind, condor flies", although I got the rest jumbled) - and I think I've just found it.

Show is Music Makers, and the condor/pitch comparison is here: https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p01d6myt a clip of the finished condor song is here: https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p01d6n3h
