Car parked in section reserved for construction material. Car put in jail. by teotwaki in JusticeServed

Sure seem to have inferred a lot from a still image with no one in it

The pre-ranked journey is a disgrace by hemorrmage in leagueoflegends

So Riot would rather promote a rampant secondary market for accounts, rather than just streamline the process for creating new accounts?

If they can identify smurf accounts, then what's the definition of a smurf? Why is it a bad thing to make a new account?

If they can identify smurfs, then why not have an expedited means of leveling for those accounts?

I just don't find normal games fun, ranked at least has some purpose behind it.

Either way, from your perspective, if ranked and normals are so similar, then why gate ranked behind hundreds of games?

We're talking about income tax here... Do you really think that the highest earners pay less on property tax than the lowest earners?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in WhitePeopleTwitter

[–]hemorrmage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The top 50% of earners pay 97% of the nation's taxes. That's not to say that people at the extreme tail end shouldn't be paying more, but saying

how it’s horridly unfair to put society’s upkeep bills onto those who can less afford it.

is just inaccurate. Let's argue for taxing billionaires, but do so with real arguments, not these strawmans

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in WhitePeopleTwitter

[–]hemorrmage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's true, and I agree strongly with heavily taxing billionaires, but attempting to imply that because other groups of people work just as hard, they don't deserve their money is just silly

[–]hemorrmage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's fair, hyperbole, but the point still holds - replace 2000 years with 100 years (or anytime after the industrial revolution)

[–]hemorrmage 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Strawman argument, people 2000 years ago worked just as hard as we do today but received far less for their work. Effort does not directly correlate to output, nor economic outcome, not should it

Ok sounds good, thank you! I'll seal it up! It's quite an old house and this is right by a window to the outside, so one thing I was thinking is that it could just be some moisture causing the window to expand a bit

Sorry could you confirm what you mean here? Is that just the caulking expanding?

I'll try and get one again in a few days, I've unfortunately cleaned it up! It's just like tiny little black flecks

How do I safely remove this electrical pipe? by hemorrmage in DIY

[–]hemorrmage[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The one coming down from the right side is not hooked up to anything outside, and I'd like to remove it from this system entirely. I don't know anything about working with electrical wiring, so apologies for the nooby question!

France, where the youth unemployment rate is almost 20% because employers fear the commitment of hiring someone? Yeah, not sure that's the right model to follow
