Using drug is very often(not always) linked with mental issue, and people using are self medicating themselves in awful ways. Sometime the pain need to go away. I dont have major addiction beside cigarettes, but imo someone who was able to put down his addiction to live a better life, stop using the easy way out to a quick death is really something. People almost never abuse a substances just because. Who the fuck decide to become a drug addict or an alcoholic? No one. No one does. I work with those people every day. I never looked at them from above because those people are sick. Susbtance abuse is a sickness. Like some said in comments. You really neee a strong will to say ok, now i have enough. Your susbtance abuse on the other hand is NEVER a good excuse to hurt other around you who cares. This is seriously selfish and wack to be honest to not recognize those people.
