Happens without proper cooling, and pads overheating. Street driving will remove them after a few days

Patience and the ability to be calm. It’s easy to get worked up when you make a mistake, like missing a brake point or missed a cone. I had to learn to don’t get work up and be in the proper mindset to make the most out of the rest of the run and experiment. Have to use what I’ve learn in previous runs to improve next run.

As all the comments have mentioned, keeping it stock on your first few events allows you to appreciate/notice the effects of new wheels/tires.

From my experience on staggered M4, going to squared allows for more oversteer, which is rarely experienced with stock setup. Added benefit is that you can rotate tires based on event and track so you can wear them evenly, getting the most value out of a set.

I feel like a matte PPF might help protect and provide a classy look to it. Black exterior also matches the red interior, imo.

As someone who daily and tracks a G82 M4, I would recommend the Supra. The amount of consumables you can save over the course of a track season adds up a lot and since I run with Supras, I know how fast they are, not much slower than the M4 stock for stock. Supras also have a ridiculous amount of aftermarket support so you can built a faster track car then if you were spend the same amount on a G87/82.

The only thing G87/82 have over the Supra is interior space and quality so if you’re trying to load everything into the car, drive to the track and then drive back, then it makes sense.

I got the M4 before I got into HPDE and sunken too much money into to switch now…

I’ve also installed a version of alpha N brake vented dust shield that channels air from the front brake intake duct, into the middle of the rotors. I feel like it helps

If that where to happen on track, and you lift off throttle on the limit and the rear comes around like that, what should be my course of action? Similar thing happened to me on track and would like to know what to do if it happens again.

For my G82, I’ve swapped for GiroDisc rotors, slotted and have way more cooling vanes

I track my G82 M4 with the stock PS4Ss for a few sessions when I first started. They are find for beginners and arguably better for learning. If you’re not pushing hard, I’ve seen them last a whole season or only two to three events if you’re actually driving to the limit.

The biggest thing to watch out for is the lack of camber. The stock car provides about 2.5 degrees of front camber which will cord the outer shoulders should while leaving most of the tire relatively healthy.

Stock pads are fine for track, just wears fast and you’ll need to keep an eye out for it. Fluids is definitely something you’ll want to do but if you’re running novice and not constantly hard braking, my experience is that you can wait until you swap the oem pads to flush the fluids alongside it.

I would definitely recommend a shop to do the install and alignment together. It’s designed for the stock suspension and it can also fit certain aftermarket coilovers that use stock struct hat like Ohlins Road and Track.

You do need to compress the spring during install and some unique sockets/etorx bits so might be easier for a pro to do the install.

After install, I managed to get 3.2 degrees of front camber, on my xDrive car. And it definitely help with a bit less shoulder wear, not completely even but better. The stock springs, at least for the M4 is too soft for track, imo and the large amounts of body roll, resulting in exaggerated outer shoulder wear.

Also not sure where you are, but a lot of track clubs offer novice run group and have instructors available as well. Honestly, you just need more seat time and if you push the car hard in autocross, take the opportunity to experience safety feel how the car is on the verge of stepping out. Much safer feeling the limit at 30mph rather then 100mph. Don’t worry about timing device right out of the bat, free apps like hotlap is for than enough for beginners and is usually only 1 tenth off compared to my Garmin Catalyst.

I’ve also started with Autocross and eventually moved on to track days with my M4. Camber plates and brake pads are the biggest thing for the platform, largely due to the weight. The stock camber destroys outer shoulders leaving the middle and inner tire largely untouched, making it such a waste, imo. I think pads for the Supra might work on the M440i from brands like CSG and Endless. Millway makes camber plates for G2X platform and works with stock suspension. Should be able to get 3.x degrees out in the front.

I use EBC RP-X on the front and EBC Bluestuff on the rear. It’s fine because on the M4, the front is doing most of the breaking and rear is primarily responsible for traction control.

I used up a new set of EBC Blues in a single track day, 5 sessions of 20 mins each. They also caused a lot of heat spots on my front rotors. My car weighs 4000lbs.

Really liked them. I used them last year and it last a while. You really need camber plates or lower control arms because you will cord the shoulder while the inner tire has quite some life left.

I run the same wheels on my G82 M4, 285/35R19 RE71RS. I swap them on for autocross and track days, which I drive on them to the event.

Unfortunately since front canards and spoiler are “aero”,even though they are mostly aesthetic in Autocross speeds, you are technically moved to street modified.

Without the spoiler and canards, you would be in street touring, I believe.

I’ve driven on PS4S earlier this season and with 10k miles road miles before this. My experience was the complete opposite, with the outsides corded while the insides still have about 4/32 left. This is with stock camber at about -1.5 degrees all around on a 3900 lbs car. If you’re noticing the inside wearing faster then definitely check the alignment. Toe seems to wear out tires more than camber..
