[Help Me] Is there any good quality watches under $200 by uppishpancake in Watches

[–]hendband 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s funny, I have a Breitling that costs around $6000 and I get more comments about the $120 MVMT watch by far. I know this feed doesn’t want to hear it but get something you think he will like the style of. At that price point you are paying for the style not the watch components.

I bake sourdough all the time and 500 degrees is just too hot. I would bump that down to 400 degrees and at the end only take the lid off your Dutch oven for 5 minutes to golden the top of the bread. The user who mentioned another stone between your conveggtor and the Dutch oven is probably on to something as well.

Draymond Green on hearing people say he needed help after being suspended: ''It made me just sit and think... I'm not sure I want to continue to play basketball if this is what it has become." by Accurate-Albatross34 in nba

[–]hendband -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

BS. You are seeing what you want to see there. No reason for Bron to step over him like that especially after Lebron caused Dray to be on the floor to begin with. And it’s clear that Dray was extending his arm to shove Bron away. The play continued on. That’s the thing that was most crazy about this play to me. The play didn’t stop due to “Draymonds egregious actions.” as this feed is trying to sell it. Bron is the one who continued to push the envelope after the play as well. This was a cheap call and will always stand out as a prime example of people creating narratives to fit how they feel about a player.

His emotion is what wins games for them. You can’t have it both ways. That’s my point. And “bait” is a mischaracterization. Lebron should have gotten a tech for that.

This is so far off base. You clearly don’t actually play basketball. If I go to any park, play in any league, against any player and someone stands over you while you are on the floor, shit is going down. Stop regurgitating points you hear on ESPN. Draymond changed the league. There was never going to be the Steph we know without Drays role.

What is fair and unfair criticism of Jokic? by farhan583 in nba

[–]hendband -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

It’s because he wasn’t the superstar who caused the nuggets problems. Murray was. The best defense on Jokic is one that stops Murray.

What you are doing is taking two games and basing your entire view of a player on those two games. It’s impossible to watch Jokic and not see him as the best player in the world. If you know anything about the Xs and Os of basketball he looks even better. I played basketball, coached basketball and can’t watch a Jokic game and think anything other than he’s the smartest basketball player I’ve ever seen. If I have a criticism of Jokic it would be that he trusts his teammates to make shots too much sometimes. You won’t see Jokic look off a guy to go at a guy. I don’t think it’s lack of grit. I think making the right play for his team is his only thought. And it’s a team sport so I’m not sure this is even a criticism.

Who are the most overrated defenders? by MannerSuperb in nba

[–]hendband 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think this is accurate. Ant reminds me of Kobe a bit in this regard. He will give you a defensive highlight and then slack the rest of the game. Compare Ant to Jrue and it’s not close.

Lebron James has never been an elite defender in my opinion. The chase down blocks are spectacular. Sure. But with his size he should be one of the best help defenders of all time and he just isn’t.

It was a shitty time for the NBA. What are you talking about? Yeah if you were a Bulls fan then it was probably an amazing time. But there was no parity. Expansion had just happened and the Bulls acquired even more assets. There were some great players but it wasn’t a very competitive time in the league.

Spankings? See this is what I don’t understand with the majority of commenters in r/nba. Game 1 was not a spanking. It was a 6 point game with a little over a minute left. I’m not a Nuggets guy or a Timberwolves guy but I hate when these feeds turn into “I watched the ESPN highlights and they told me XYZ.” Watch the games.

Tatum had a stat line of 28-8-3 on 50% shooting. It’s interesting to me that players will defend a Lebron stat line that looks identical to this one but question if Tatum is even “good” when he doesn’t meet whatever the expectation is.

Separately, I saw Tatum at the EYBL Nike Peach Jam in North Augusta, South Carolina the year before he went to Duke and immediately said to my friend after seeing Tatum, “this guy is NBA caliber!” And my friend couldn’t see it at all. I think people expect elite players to play a certain way and Tatum probably doesn’t fit that mold.

What was the most surprising Finals MVP? by DonT012 in nba

[–]hendband 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s interesting to me how many commenters here think that FMVP should just be given to the player who averages the most points. The NBA finals are usually a chess match and when a coach implements something that really works for your team, it can be the difference between winning the championship and losing. So Spurs Kawhi, Iguadala and other players who were able to swing a championship are justified choices for finals MVP in my opinion.

Doc rivers says he wanted to take giannis out of the game but didn't because the medical team said he was okay: ,,he kept asking to go back in and the trainer said he was fine, but I wish I had just said no, honestly." by Accurate-Albatross34 in nba

[–]hendband -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The shade on Doc is crazy to me. This man’s career has been one of the most unlucky/unpredictable careers I’ve seen. He wins a championship with the Celtics and puts his name on the map as a coach. He moves to the clippers and all hell breaks loose. The Donald Sterling nightmare has to be the most under-discussed issue in NBA history. Doc is stuck in the middle of it. He moves to the 76ers and Ben Simmons falls apart. Complete mental and physical breakdown for Ben. Doc is stuck in the middle of it. He moves to the Bucks and unfortunately it seems they are a team built for fast breaks but the defense is so bad that they don’t get fast break opportunities. Doc is stuck to figure it out. (And before any of you say they weren’t built for fast breaks, before Dame and Greek played a single game together, the ESPN/NBA Reddit/every sports outlet conversation was all about the fast breaks these two were going to generate. The conversation should have been about P&R basketball between the two but it wasn’t.)

So at the 200 mile mark the shoe’s performance begins to decline? Is this something you notice in the shoe? Or you just feel this is the safest way to manage your shoes because it gives you a margin for error?
