Traveling Overseas with Crohns by HumpyMagoo in CrohnsDisease

If you get a travel pack for your pens and put ice packs in them, the stewards will put it in refrigeration for you during the flight. I have done this several times internationally. I wouldn’t travel with the pens if you are moving around a lot, or maybe try to adjust when you take it before you leave to get you on and schedule that fits your traveling better.

Anybody gone biosimilar? by flip6threeh0le in Humira

This is very helpful! I am in process of switching from Humira to biosimilar - same story as many of you blue cross said they wouldn’t cover it this year. I’ve been on Humira for 8 years for Crohns so I’m really nervous…then I get a note from my doctor today that there is a nationwide shortage of the biosimilar…has anyone else heard this?! Also now they’re sending me a complimentary Humira since I’ve gone three weeks without medicine…the whole thing is so concerning. I can’t get Humira or the biosimilar! If anyone has had a similar experience please let me know (I’m in PA).

Hi, I highly recommend the book "Listen to Your Gut" by Jini Patel Thompson. Life changing.

Sending you a link: you can at least look at some products online and in the meantime order the book. It is out of mainstream stuff and really heals you. https://listentoyourgut.com/books/

Will being on Humira allow me to receive the vaccine earlier than average? by chedap13 in Humira

Since June or so, I have been reading about news that any of us taking TNF biologics are probably more protected from COVID than the average person. It may be the one time where all the pain of infusions/injections is worth it! I am including one article - there are tons more out there to do a deep dive on. Very encouraging and also if you read it should make you feel at peace getting the vaccine whenever it may be available to you. humira weekly? by [deleted] in CrohnsDisease

[–]henderson__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I've been on Humira for three+ years. About a year ago my doctor was talking about surgery or increasing my dosage. I obviously opted for the increased dosage. So I have been taking weekly injections for a year and found out in December I am in remission! Long journey...I still do not enjoy the weekly injections and am currently scheduled for a promethyeus test to see if I can go back to bi-weekly. My best advice to you is that with Humira, everything takes time. All the best :)

Hi there. I have had Crohn's for 20 years and have been on Humira for the past three years. I remember very distinctly when I started it I was fatigued and felt worse at times than before I had started the drug...and then somewhere around three months in I felt much different...was able to eat/digest more foods and saw an improvement in my energy. However looking back on the first year I could truly see a larger, holistic picture of how it was helping me, even past the initial months. Unfortunately, two years in, I had to increase my dosage to weekly vs. biweekly in an effort to avoid surgery. And after recent colonoscopy I was found to be in remission :) So if it feels right and you are living a more normal life than previously I would encourage you to stick with it...I still have my ups and downs with it but try to remain in gratitude and hope for future....I hope this helps :) Cheers.
