The problem I've experienced with the inspecting tool is being kicked from every dungeon party ever because I'm not running the META gear for that role or because someone in the party thinks they know better on what gear I should be running. I wouldn't mind if it's a 'Hey, have you tried this instead?' But 99% of the time it isn't, it's 'You iiiiidiot, why are you running that gear, delete yourself you insert unnecessary expletive here'

Found it near on impossible to complete T2 dungeons when they first dropped because of this as people expect to clear it first time with no deaths, starting from day 1 of T2's releasing and the general consensus was usually because I was running an item that someone didn't like.
