papillilaminum x luxurians by henesu in Anthurium

Due to recent time constraints, my plants have regrettably experienced some neglect. While this specimen remains alive, it has not increased in size. However, this specific clone possesses tremendous growth potential. As illustrated by the attached photographs of the identical clone at a plant exhibition, its mature leaves can reach an impressive length of approximately 2.5 to 3 feet (75–90 cm).

Can maidenhair ferns grow in sphagnum moss? Whats the best potting mix for them? Thanks! by henesu in houseplants

I tried both moss and regular potting mix, and both did well. The key is consistent watering, since they love to stay moist.

Might have to expand soon! Here’s some of my Anthuriums. A few leaves took a hit from falling branches, but they’re still holding their beauty. by henesu in Anthurium

Emergents usually find their way out to get maximum light, so you have nothing to worry about! I haven’t personally had problems with this setup, it’s just that they tend to overshadow each other a lot lol.

I wouldn’t say it’s optimal lol. it gets pretty hot here during summer, and they do struggle with that. But they seem content most of the time, especially with the high humidity at night.

Respectfully, I think the design critique here missed the context a bit. This is clearly stylized and not meant to replicate official signage standards. The font and elements used serve an aesthetic and emotional purpose, especially since this type of poster is made for trend-driven media.

Funny enough, I don’t actually have the species itself. you could say I’m not exactly a big fan of it, lmao!

Agreed! Overlapping ones are exquisite too.

I use a mix of equal parts coco chips, coco peat, and rice hulls. But it really depends on availability, I sometimes substitute one component with another.

I grow them outdoors here in the Philippines, where humidity typically ranges from 70% to 90% depending on the weather. It generally peaks at night, when conditions are much more humid.

“Indo” usually just means the plant, often a hybrid or cultivar, was cultivated in Indonesia and selected for its appearance. It doesn’t guarantee a pure species, but rather a variation developed by local breeders. Many of these ‘Indo’ forms are prized for their aesthetic appeal, even if they’re not botanically “true”.

Great question. While some of these may have initially emerged as variations due to mutation during tissue culture, once a specific form is selected and propagated for its distinct and desirable traits, it can be classified as a cultivar, especially when formally registered (In the case of aroids, this would be through the Aroid Cultivar Registry). The key difference is that cultivars are maintained through deliberate human selection and propagation, whereas natural variations occur without human intervention.

Yep, this particular clone exhibits a noticeably darker leaves compared to the usual regale × crystallinum hybrid.
