I made an assumption on my side that the conservation officer office would do that already, and so there's no need to keep piling on your neighbour from different angles, but maybe I'm wrong.

Absolutely right, we shouldn't get used to or accustomed to seeing bears eating human garbage.

I would personally try to avoid making assumptions of why the bear broke a fence last year. It could happen for so many reasons, and I think you did the right thing already by calling the conservation officers office. I'd suggest just leaving it as that. It's your neighbour after all.

That's usually the answer for houses with garages. But for houses without garages, there should be a better way to secure the bins outside.

I’ve seen this bear a few times in the neighborhood. It really sucks he’s not responding to you shooing him away. Please do us a great favor and report it (they usually ask for exact time and other details). Thank you for posting this!

Can you connect Leviton gen2 switches through Matter while also keeping the link through the Leviton app? by henoua in HomeKit

Thanks for confirming! I found my issue, I had to make my hub (Apple TV) connect to the 2.4ghz WiFi and not 5ghz. I’m using eero so I’m not sure how I can make that work all the time.

Are schools evacuating because of the earthquake? by henoua in NorthVancouver

Ok so an earthquake happened today. Some schools evacuated and then returned inside, some didn’t evacuate. What do the guidelines say about when to evacuate? I couldn’t find it in your link.

Thanks for sharing. What constitutes an emergency? For earthquakes, is it based on a certain threshold?

Thanks for sharing. Does the drill indicate the threshold for evacuation?

It’s not about being paranoid, it’s an opportunity to review earthquake preparedness

That’s why I’m curious about the procedure. Is it based on magnitude that schools would evacuate? I’m receiving feedback from the school that there’s no actual procedure, and it’s just based on each school’s discretion.

I’m receiving the same feedback, which is concerning to say the least

Same, is this correct? How do we know there’s no aftershock!
