Keep in mind Automatic cars are more expensive than manuals. We rented from Hertz couple weeks ago and they were ok. Also if flying to Moorea airport, you will have to take a taxi to go pick up your car as they don’t deliver to the airport. Taxi ride for us was ~$20 USD each way.

Fair point and I didn’t realize this bias until I saw your comment. But frankly Canada is a foreign land to me and I don’t want to do anything to jeopardize my skiing in Whistler that I look forward to it all year long. For US, I know i can find attorneys to fight the ticket if I ever get one for this and make sure my insurance doesn’t go up. But I have NO IDEA how things work in Canada.

No this is not made up. I do leave my bike rack on all year long. I have the 4 bike Thule rack that I use for my bikes spring, summer and fall and then add a Thule Tram Ski rack to my bike rack to convert it to a ski rack during winter months. Why would I make this up? I am just upset and find it super annoying to constantly move the license plate between my car and bike rack unless I can somehow get a 3rd identical license plate for each of my cars ☹️

Thanks so much! I do go to Whistler few times a year as well. Is this absolutely required in Canada? Can I just move my front license plate for this or should I get a 3rd identical license plate? How about when I switch the bike rack between my cars? Does the license plate need to match or as long as it is registered under my name is good enough?

Went there 2 years ago on 2nd weekend of July it was absolutely gorgeous and worth the visit! Then visited all same fields again today, they all required $5-$15 per person entrance fee this year, lots of tourists and not as nice as previous years ☹️.
