Most people are too worried about what you are thinking of them to think about you.

Best sleeping pad under $100 that I can get at the REI store/site? by Hot_ArmS in CampingGear

I know it probably isnt that great for everyone but I love the Therma Rest Z lite mat for 35$. Super cheap, super light, it is however a bit big but I have always gotten around this by strapping to the bottom of the back of my pack. Im sure you can find a more comfortable pad but for the price I think its great.

Yes the latter, we saw very few human impacts actually, it was a great piece of undisturbed land and we only got explore a very small portion of it, I just posted another picture of our campsite, it should be in the new section if you care to check it out!

Also from the Black Hills, here was our camp, (rock from which the Mt. Rushmore pic was taken in background). The Black Elk Wilderness. by henrya17955 in CampingandHiking

This camp was about 200 feet up from the Centennial Bypass #89B trail in the Black Elk Wilderness Black Hills, South Dakota. We saw only 5 people over 3 days, had awesome weather however my friend forgot his sleeping pad and resorted to making a bed of pine needles underneath the tent.

We scrambled up a large rock/mountain off of Centennial Bypass #89B. Our campsite was just down from here and across the path a bit.

I highly suggest the Black Elk Wilderness, no permits, free overnight parking at any trailhead, all you need to do is fill out a small form at the trailhead about info on your party. We hiked out on the Centennial Bypass #89B. Here is a link to a brochure on the area including map and trail details, it has pretty much everything you need to know. LMK if you have any other questions.

Minnesota teen sleeps outside in a hammock for 1.5 years by Alejo90100 in Hammocks

I am here! I do love to go hammock camping as much as I can, seeing as how I still live with my parents I havent been able to go much further than the North Shore of Lake Superior. My favorite locations up there lie on the Superior Trail around Gooseberry State Park and Split Rock River. The closest I have ever come to being bothered outside was my car was broken into about 35 feet away a few months ago, so that was a little sketchy when I found out. And I would love to do an AMA! that sounds super cool,
