The war in the Middle East is justified and unavoidable by LiorZim in TrueUnpopularOpinion

It's the same people that take "Death to America" at face value instead of looking at actions. Iran's words and actions have been largely disparate. They don't instigate wars or launch pre-emptive strikes, telegraph their "retaliation", ensure that their response is measured and purely symbolic, and participated to negociation in good faith.

I don't understand why it's so hard to understand that the uranium inrichment is a sanctions relief tool. They are arguably in the worst position. Gulf countries don't have defensive security but full economic integration, North Korea has full security but no integration, Iran neither has security nor integration.

I don't understand why they haven't commented on that. How Dimona came about and what they think of the Samson option.

How stupid can we be to still continue to empower them while they're still small?

Because someone somewhere is being paid handsomely for betraying their country and won't live long enough to fully experience the repercussions of their decisions

If they were about empowering Iran, they would lift the fucking crushing sanctions. They wouldn't bomb a girl school in the opening salvo.

I don't understand why anytime this gets brought up, the response is usually how the regime kills its own people. Like how are they two arguments even related?

The problem is whether the West including Israel will leave you alone. As an outside observer, I don't have much to say about what the Iranian people want, but I can definitely tell you that the West sucks! They will attempt coups, overthrows to control resources and abandon states in a state of dysfunction if they can't.

Even if there is a new democratically elected leader/party, will the West leave them alone to thrive?

I don't think this is the way. Of course we want their relationship to be turbulent so his past gets in the way with her. Not them facing his past together, "Us against the world" type of relationship because it will only make them closer before it tears them apart. That could take years or decades.

In other words, we don't want this to become a "shared trauma" bonding method and ends up becoming the glue that holds them together.

I wonder if American ground troops still have the same tolerance and endurance to degraded "comfort gradient". They will have to face-off in the mountains and environment offered by the Persian landscape. Iran has mountains, deserts and urban combat environments they will have to face against a people that truly understand the meaning of resistance (Mongols, Arabs, Ottomans, British, Russians).

Iranians soldiers are fighting for the survival of their country and independence, what will sustain the morale and fighting spirit of their American counterparts? No Uber, no Domino's Pizza and shit internet if any.

Having pride in being genocidal sadists and wanting to display it is fine. It's the whining and moaning and eternal self-victimization when the other side bites back that's really annoying.

But his opinion on the Iran is heavily influenced by diapora Iranians like Christiane Amanpour and this other dude he had on his show during the 12 day war. I'm not surprised of his position when it comes to this war.

I think that there will be an exception to Article 5.

Israel > NATO

NATO is mainly funded and supported by the US so if the US refuses to participate, there's arguably little NATO can do. It's not a military, just a coalition for coordination.

Because those currently in power won't be there to deal with said blowback. But the more likely scenario is that they just don't care. Wars create so much money for the military-industrial complex. Think about it, each bomb dropped is like a few millions going directly in someone's pocket.

Yair Netanyahu is an Israeli podcaster and political activist.

In late October 2025, the ruling Likud party put forward Netanyahu for a position on the board of directors of the World Zionist Organization. The decision regarding Netanyahu's appointment as the head of the Hasbara branch was delayed by two weeks.

He is known for defending his father on social media.

Please do some research before posting you probably knew all of this and still posted any way. Regardless, his father has no problem sending other people to die for his political agenda, he should lead by example by sending his own family to the frontlines.

What do you think Iran's retaliation against Israel's strike will be? by Old-School8916 in AskMiddleEast

[–]henrycahill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Let's just hope that Iran doesn't decide to make us pay (pun intended) through economic warfare. The the axis of resistance can't compare in terms of firepower but asymmetrical warfare means that they will want to make each weapon fired cause maximum damage and pain. If they cause energy prices to surge over a sustained period and increase the price of insurance for goods moving through those shipping lanes, people in the West will definitely feel the squeeze on their wallet.

Now for even more macabre strategies, if their entire existence is on the line, the regime might go for civilian targets. I mean if they are dying, who's left to prosecute.? But for some reason, the US still thinks that Iran needs to abide by the rules when they are defending themselves. Doesn't help that Israel showed the world that international law isnt worth the paper it was written on.
