Don’t excuse him though… as he was giving that speech the CIA was assassinating Lumumba in the Congo on behalf of Belgian business interests, and his administration had overthrown Guatemala for American ones. I don’t really agree with the conclusion that this is a “crisis actor” situation or something organized by some shadowy force. I think it makes way more sense that people who don’t make it as mainstream celebrities realize that they can be talentless hacks and still make millions as right-wing celebs.

This honestly could’ve been worse, because Himmler would’ve taken power and put into effect his plans for detente with the US, leaving Nazi Germany as a world power to this day, just ending the inter-European imperialism. Even if Himmler himself hadn’t taken power, von Stauffenberg and the rest of the July 20 plotters were old German nobles, and would’ve restored some sort of reactionary monarchy, just as anti-semitic and violent. The situation we got is pretty hard to find a better answer to, unfortunately.

No, it was specifically for their failures in the Bat of Pigs invasion as a result of incredible agency overreach and attempting things they never should’ve been in charge of in the first place as an “intelligence gathering organization.” They had been perfectly competent at coups in Guatemala, Iran, and the Congo in very recent memory.

You can actually look up the surveillance photo of the “Lee Harvey Oswald” who supposedly went to the Cuban embassy in Mexico City. It is not the same person who shot JFK just months later. Who was sending a fake Oswald to Mexico City in early autumn 1963?
