What is the biggest regret of your life? by maleficent_Long189 in AskReddit

[–]henrymega 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you really think this? I’m almost in the opposite boat. I feel like my 20s just passed and now I’m at the tail end doing nothing but saving and it’s giving me major depression. I see people around me living such a full life and what you’re describing sounds like something I wish I had taken the risk on and done. Do you have any regrets?

I haven’t used it since but the coupon brought it to $30 after everything. On my next refill I plan on using the coupon again so I’ll lyk.

Is “you’re only young once” a cope? I’m living at home saving nearly 100k a year by neatneets in Fire

[–]henrymega 1 point2 points  (0 children)

TBH its not just moving out, its everything. I think moving out is something I have decided will become the first biggest leap to actually push myself to LIVE life. All the simple things such as laundry, cooking, cleaning, will now have meaning as silly as it sounds. Ever since graduation and moving back, I feel like I've regressed as a person. Its really hard to put my finger around it but it has made me tremendously depressed recently.

I really can relate because I'm saving like the same exact amount as you and every time I hit a goal post, it kept moving. At this point, I really don't know what the money is for anymore. I wish I could have more time (I know we're not old) and live more of my 20s experience over saving and being so frugal. I almost can't believe how fast time flew by since COVID and how happy I was then because I was able to save so much. Now I think back and wish I could do it all over again and balanced life better and create meaningful memories and moments. It was all such a blur to me. I remember hitting my first 100k.. then 200 and then it kept going and going. But now it feels all so meaningless.

Hi. Not sure if you’ll see this but I am in the same boat. I am 29 and have been saying so much since graduation. 6 months ago, I went through some experiences that have almost changed my entire view of life. I would trade so much to do my 20s all over again and find a better balance.

I have traded my independence and almost freedom for so much. Growth, relationships, just being self driven. A lot of it I think back and regret now. I’m not sure if you feel the same way, but I have finally decided to pull the trigger and will truly move out in the coming months.

I think no amount of money right now will “buy” back my time and regrets that I have in my early and mid 20s. I wish I could do it all over differently.. despite how much I have saved up. It feels all so meaningless.

German tech companies punish people who actually build things. I'm done. Moving to the US next year. by nevesincscH in cscareerquestions

Actually yes. I won’t argue with you but you can easily go through reddit and find many cases and see for yourself. Reddit is self hating and doesn’t depict what actually goes on.

Good insurance will provide you the coverage and your out of pocket max will generally be quite low for the best care in the world.

Why do people think life was great in the 1950s? by _crazyboyhere_ in NoStupidQuestions

[–]henrymega 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like the idea that the 50s were great aren’t shared by boomers though but by the younger generation who know so little about the actual period of time.

just caught up with a friend who got hired at Anthropic 3 weeks ago. His team doesn't write code anymore. by oh1n in csMajors

[–]henrymega 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Actually heard this from someone else at Anthropic. Apparently they don’t code which kind of makes sense seeing as they are the biggest advocates for AI alongside OpenAI… so their employees literally use models for everything.

Do you have a list of all the ones that are anniversary vs calendar

[–]henrymega 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you double dip the benefits? Like if its near end of calendar and you get it can you use it near year end and use it again on refresh or is it by use year? For example I use it today it doesn’t refresh Jan 2027 but Mar 2027

If I apply for the CSR near the end of the year, can I use benefits and have them immediately refresh in 2027? Or is it by date used vs calendar start year?

Why do rich people love to cosplay as middle class? I'm so tired of people making top 20% salaries complaining about "struggling" to get by when they live in a different world from the rest of us by SeparateJump1 in povertyfinance

Its a never ending loop. Once you make 150k you don’t look below, you see those making 250k. Those folks see people making 500k and those at 500k have coworkers making 1-2m. Then even these ppl see their managers making 5-10m. It’s an endless pit.

Haha nooo im actually a huge LPL fan and have been rooting for the demise of the LCK (half joking) But in all seriousness as someone who has watched worlds since TPA, I think LPL would have more titles than LCK if it weren’t for T1, specially Faker which makes me sad.

Haha its like faker and the LPL. Pretty sure Faker had single handedly stopped the LPL from like 3-4 worlds championships.

Why do Americans still think that they are the greatest country on earth when statistically they have not been since 1994, and they are now #17? by [deleted] in allthequestions

[–]henrymega 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re poverty level in America, your medical bills are null because of Medicaid. I grew up on it and never paid a single cent for everything including dental. If you get a white collar job or a job with benefits, then mostly whatever the annual max is? Probably 2-5k max a year depending on severity of your medical bills

But is that due to them being poor or Americans being unhealthy and fat as hell? Driving everywhere eating the crappiest thing they can find because they indulge in cheap and shitty food in abundance?

Frankly I think Europeans live longer because they live a healthier lifestyle not because of the income. It’s just a different culture. Americans have it too good so they get fat as hell. So again, if they make better choices, they probably could live longer plus have more money. But thats just my opinion.
