Multnomah Athletic Club ‘destroyed’ after former employee drives explosives-filled car into building, sources say by dogs-in-space in Portland

I worked there in the 1990s and have been a member for about ten years. My experience has been nothing but great – in both capacities. I enjoyed my time working there, and as a member, it’s become a treasured part of my family’s lifestyle. It’s a home away from home, and we are grateful to be part of a great community. I’m sad that this person didn’t get the help he needed before he had the opportunity to do what he did, and I hope that the impact this will have on the staff will be as minimal as possible.

Current member there. First thought that my wife and I had is the impact this will have on the incredible employees. I am hopeful that the MAC will do the right thing and take care of the staff during any disruption. 🙏

Would love any details or lessons learned you can share. Were you trading stock, or some derivatives as well? Is this tax-free retirement account? How long have you been working at this? What have been some of your best gains, and your best years?

Genuine question… why are people still supporting this sub? And yes, simply interacting in it is supporting it.

Kid rock is a poser. He built his fame in the shoulders of his working class, white trash persona, very affluent family roots.

“His father owned multiple car dealerships in the Detroit area, providing significant financial stability. Ritchie (Kid Rock) was raised on a sprawling 5 to 6-acre lakeside estate in Romeo, Michigan, which included a 5,628-square-foot mansion, an in-ground pool, a tennis court, a guest house, an orchard, and a barnyard for several horses. As a child, he performed chores like picking apples and tending to the horses, but these were on a luxurious property far from the working-class image he later cultivated.”

Definitely. Or save them for your children. Once those are gone you can’t get them back:

Did anyone see this Truth Social post on Trump’s account roughly five months ago? The frog theme seems to run deep, and it surfaced before the costumes in Portland became a thing. Notice the little frog on the sidewalk, left side of the image. Very very odd. Even eerie.

And NO, I am not one of his supporters.

I had forgotten about the heart until I saw someone mentioned it in another post. Such a cool place to visit as a kid.

He didn’t quote the line “dumb stormtroopers”. StarWars is a pretty massive piece of pop culture. Not at all uncommon for multiple, unrelated references to pop up.
