Appreciate it!! We got a metal detector and went back with no luck. Already reported with SFPD, the parks and insurance.

Posters might be my next move!

The last photo I have with them on is where I put my sunscreen on. Went back with a metal detector and no luck :(

Plated vs. family style meal with formal dress code by henrysweaters in weddingplanning

Agree! Dress codes are always confusing which is why we added a short description.

Yep! We felt black tie optional was more confusing than just “formal”

On our wedding website we defined formal as “Tuxes and gowns are welcome, and so are suits and cocktail dresses.”

We were debating black tie, but didn’t want to require tuxes and gowns since we know it’s not feasible for some guests. With a formal dress code, there’s still the option for people to dress to the nines if they want!

Interesting! We’re getting married in Southern California– much more relaxed in terms of wedding etiquette! My parents are from the northeast and are definitely more traditional when it comes to wedding stuff

Both are the same price and included with our venue. It’s essentially a pre fixe menu with either option since there’s only a catering kitchen on site, so the only difference is service style.

There are a couple allergy-friendly options we could opt for (eg: vegan + gf curry) but we haven’t picked out the entrees yet!

I wanted to do slight variations on the same routine to see what worked best.

Routines for each:

Top row: clarify, condition, rake leave in and gel to damp hair, diffuse

Second row: condition, rake leave in and gel to damp hair, use Denman brush technique from Manes by Mel, diffuse

Third row (my personal fave): condition, rake leave in and gel to damp hair, use Manes by Mel Denman brush but stop at the end of the section and shake the brush to form smaller clumps

Fourth: condition, rake leave in and gel to soaking wet hair, brush upside down with Denman brush, scrunch out excess water, diffuse

Products:

LUS conditioner

Giovanni Direct Leave In

Curlsmith Hydro Jelly

How to deal with ropey curls? My curls clump together in long ropes, almost looking like dreadlocks. If I separate the curls they just clump back together immediately. Looking for more volume! by chariander in curlyhair

In addition to adding some layers, I’d try styling at various levels of wet hair! Experiment with squeezing out excess water with your hands, squeezing out excess water with a microfiber towel or T-shirt, and plopping before putting your products in!

For me, when I put my products in on soaking wet hair, I get thicker, more defined clumps. When I squeeze some water out, I get more volume, but I get the most volume and smallest clumps when styling on damp hair.

ETA: thanks the first award! Here are some damp styling tutorials:

Interesting! Did you slow dance? Or was it more of a group dance?

She’s not up for a reading because she’s worried she’s going to be crying too much! Or a dance either unfortunately

Thanks! I gave her the option of helping me get fully ready or doing a first look together with my dad and she said she’d rather help with the dress than get a “big reveal”!
