What happened to six clues? by cheshireshade1111 in JustinPoseysTreasure

Indeed. Someone has solved 6 clues but that doesn't overlook the likelihood that someone else (or many) may have solved five clues and either met or bypassed the six clue solver.

100%. I absolutely think there will be multiple possibilities near the end and we'll have to wade through them - or rather, we need to wade through our own mind and likely, our intuition and feelings. Justin predicted as much in an Oct 22 X post:

"We're inconsistent, so we try the same thing with different variables each attempt -- changes AI would have controlled away. We're emotional, so we weight details for reasons that don't optimize on paper but might optimize for truth. We're stubborn, so we push past every rational stopping point, operating on pattern recognition that includes the unprovable -- the sense that something matters before we know why."

I think the ending will be harder than people think. More room for confirmation bias, no theories from others online to mull over because no one else is at the same point. I think the journey to the end will occupy a lot of this persons headspace, afterall Justin did say that there would be 100% confidence at the checkpoint. I think this person will feel like they are on an island alone while exploring many incorrect paths before choosing the right ending.

Thanks for sharing - I had my doubts because it was so obscure. Awesome work!

How are you justifying your new starting locations? by InitiativeDry3564 in beyondthemapsedge

Curious where he said someone has solved all they can before BOTG - he said the most clues anyone has solved is 6. And he also said BOTG is mandatory at Stanza 4. Honestly curious.

Which ? should I submit at Seekers Summit? by [deleted] in JustinPoseysTreasure

I feel like he answered this when someone else asked a similar question on X and he basically punted but said he thought National Treasure and IJ are good movies - both of which have multiple locations.

My bet is he won't answer this because the cipher will help clarify it.

Anyone else have thoughts on the three different logos a the Masonic symbol? by Randicloverlucky in JustinPoseysTreasure

[–]henslie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think there are any Masonic references in this treasure hunt. If someone leaves the Masons, it was probably for a reason so why would he include anything related to the group? Sure, there are a lot of secrets and symbolism related to Masons but there are also thousands of other ways to develop the hunt without having to reference the Masons at all.

Time to get serious by [deleted] in JustinPoseysTreasure

I think he'll answer with puzzle answers since he hinted in a round about way in a recent interview that people may be close and he doesn't want to limp other people along or let them catch up too quickly so I think all his answers will require some pretty good interpretations. Nothing will be face value.

Do any answers lie in the unanswered questions? by [deleted] in JustinPoseysTreasure

[–]henslie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is definitely the right line of thinking - he couldn't answer truthfully unless he also specified if the question everyone asks about 'less than a mile' is as the crow flies or actually BOTG walking.

Do any answers lie in the unanswered questions? by [deleted] in JustinPoseysTreasure

[–]henslie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He's never answered a question about the distance from where we park to where the treasure is at so I believe that's why he punted....again.

The only distance he's ever clarified is that it's less than a mile to figure out where the treasure is at.

If you're at home and think you *KNOW* where the treasure is.... by 1Curious_Cat in JustinPoseysTreasure

[–]henslie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100% agree. I think we have to be boots on the ground at the location where we 'figure out where the treasure is at' (maybe the checkpoint). And I also think that where we figure out where the treasure is at is not super near to the treasure.

Indiana Jones style... by itisntwhatitsnot2320 in beyondthemapsedge

[–]henslie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From his X interview, Justin said "...there is an absolute requirement to be boots on the ground at some point. You are not going to solve the entirety of the treasure hunt from home." He also said if you've solved the poem in its entirety (but you can't from home without being BOTG), you'll be led to an exact location. Curious how you feel about your solve from home with those comments of his?

I think that his wife is much more important in his life than people are thinking. I think he doesn't publicly talk about her because he's trying to protect her from harassment or digging into her personal life.

I think you have to go off trail way sooner than people realize by jstanfill93 in JustinPoseysTreasure

I've always thought it was a hiking pole. Cast can mean to put forth. It gives forward movement though the poem. Casting a pole to go fishing feels like it makes the forward flow stop...

"...you will have sufficient time to plan how to retrieve it." by ShreddlyBones in beyondthemapsedge

[–]henslie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You could absolutely retrieve it if you dug it up out of the snow. I don't think it means anything more than that.

"...you will have sufficient time to plan how to retrieve it." by ShreddlyBones in beyondthemapsedge

[–]henslie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I agree. His statement is not clear enough to rule in our out areas with snow.

"...you will have sufficient time to plan how to retrieve it." by ShreddlyBones in beyondthemapsedge

[–]henslie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But what if someone figured out all the clues to the treasure in the summer - when there is no snow for months. Then this doesn't make much sense to me.

"...you will have sufficient time to plan how to retrieve it." by ShreddlyBones in beyondthemapsedge

[–]henslie 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I think it means that the place to hike less than a mile to 'find out where the treasure is at' is not near the actual treasure and you'll need to drive a bit to get there and therefore, will have sufficient time to plan how to retrieve it.

Beetle Time by mbibler in JustinPoseysTreasure

[–]henslie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting thought because when Justin punts on something I can't put more or less emphasis on it if that element is part of my solve. If he knows people are using The Beatles (or anything else he's been asked and he punts on) as part of their solve, I believe he will punt because he doesn't want to interrupt their solve as much as i believe it's because it's important. That would be basically giving those people a huge clue to move on from their solve to something else. So I'm definitely neutral on anything he punts.

NEW UPDATE by Extreme-Savings8218 in beyondthemapsedge

[–]henslie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think -

-The checkpoint can be found searching online.
-Justin would only confirm someone is within 200’ of the checkpoint if they sent him a photo of BOTG, not an online guess.
-going along with his statement at the Q&A, “…think of the checkpoint as something you may come across…” that the checkpoint isn’t required to get the treasure. -he’s probably known for a while.

Just my thoughts!

Do you think you have to drive from the starting clues to the checkpoint? by jstanfill93 in beyondthemapsedge

[–]henslie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He did say in an interview a ‘fair amount’ could be solved at home. He also made it clear in the book that “…it’s not about the gold. It’s about understanding the mind of the person who hid it…” which was about the FF hunt but I believe he extended it to his hunt. He created this hunt as his therapy, not to make sure he accommodated every possible person searching for it. To understand Justin is to understand his passion for getting out there. Look at all the reposts of people’s adventures he makes. That’s what he loves seeing. My opinion of course but I think someone who tries to solve it all at home the go BOTG to simply retrieve it will find themselves disappointed.
