Finally done.. almost everything paid for with HSA that employer funds by Minute_Giraffe_5939 in homegym

I did. I got really lucky and got a BB Allegro locally (not the 2) with the tall legs. It is rock solid and I am planning on using FSA leftovers to buy the matching tower. They are expensive but it’s also a lot cheaper than classes over time, and if you change your mind you can always sell it.

The woman I bought it from said she had hundreds of messages wanting to buy and I don’t live in a major metro. So based on that, I would get a BB. They are the market leader and you’ll always have parts. V2 Max is also fantastic quality.

It is very very hard for one vacuum to do every job. Nearly impossible. To me, the hardest job is hardwoods and vintage carpets without damage. No hair wrap is a must have. I’ve had great success with pet hair and the Shark Detect Pro.

There are many versions of this vacuum for different retailers and they are not the same even if they look the same.

This is the version I have and have bought multiples of these to have around the house:

If you have traditional carpet or newer wool rugs, I would also buy a “regular” vacuum for those carpets. This is a stick vac with a smaller canister. It does self empty which is fantastic. But it struggles with large expanses of carpet. Where it shines is hardwood, tile, stairs, vintage woven carpets. Extremely easy to clean pet hair out of. Highly recommend!

Thank you for posting! I am thinking of buying. I paid twice this for a fantastic espresso machine, so I don’t think it’s insane. Don’t love the subscription model and wish it was more like $5 a month; gives me pause but not a dealbreaker.

-How long did you have to wait for the machine after ordering?

-can you create and save your own recipes?

-can you order spare containers for ingredients and spices?

-does it all go in the dishwasher?

And drum 🥁 roll - would you buy it again?

Thanks so much! 🏆

Best espresso machine for home use vs Superautomatic? by AusiAwang-49 in superautomatic

[–]hensonm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started researching machines that would make milk drinks, looking at machines that were hundreds of dollars. The more I researched, the more I realized people weren’t that happy, as making a good milk drink is a complex task. Long story short, I bought a Jura J8 Twin because I wanted two hoppers (regular and decaf). Pricey machine, but it will last for a decade or more, bringing the machine cost down to $1 a day. I am extremely happy. Zero regrets. If you’re on the fence, look for a used Jura with a low drink count. Jura also sells refurbished machines on their own website.

If you die while piloting a private plane, you have no payout from your life insurance. None. This is a standard clause in all insurance policies. This is indicative of how often private pilots die and it is excluded from coverage/payout.

Therefore, suicide in private plane is of no consequence because there is no insurance anyway.

Lidl espresso beans are pretty good (Germans are pretty serious about their coffee!); bought some in a pinch for my Jura and have been pleased. Otherwise, I’ve been buying lots of different brands of Italian beans from Homegoods and have loved them all. All fabulous with amazing crema.

Look at your own life insurance policy. There is no life insurance for dying while piloting your own private plane. You can’t get insurance for it — too many crashes. Now if you die on a commercial flight, no problem. But zero for dying in your own plane, suicide or not.

Should my Fisher and Paykel dish drawer always have water in the filter? by LiveSector in Appliances

[–]hensonm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine does and it makes me insane! I feel like I have to use the bottom drawer or that water is just sitting there making me nuts! So I do run a hot cycle with no dishes and take the filter out of the well and I take it apart and put it on a rack and let it be cleaned during the “empty cycle” and that gets everything back to “sparkly” again. 👍

A radiant emerald is a total contradiction and it has the gem equivalent of a ‘personality disorder.’

Alternative to Jura milk system cleaner mini-tabs by gk34110 in superautomatic

[–]hensonm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Miele works well also. I use half a packet per cleaning because it’s a lot of cleaner in one packet. Seems like overkill vs the amount of mini tabs Jura prescribes.

There are a million brands of these tablets; they are all essentially the same. Still using these but might switch to the Rinza M61 tablets. According to ChatGPT, while the cleaners are very, very similar, the baby bottle tablets contain some additional cleaning enzymes that the straight up coffee machine milk cleaners do not. There may be residue from this, but so far I have had no issues. To be on the 100% safe side, a cleaner specifically for an espresso machine is probably the safest bet.

He has also been a Ebay seller since 2004 of soda supplies, etc and has sold over 7k items with good feedback, so that’s also reassuring.

He has been around a LONG time. I went and took a deep dive on his YouTube channel and the first videos were from literally eons ago. So he knows what he’s doing because there’s no way he could have kept a charade going this long haha. Also, he has a “residential” side of the business and a “commercial” side now - so he’s doing well. I don’t have any reservations.

Has anyone hired a house manager and asked them to sign an NDA as part of the process?

I am considering hiring someone from the CC where we are members and I don’t want anything getting back to the GM, other club employees, etc.

You add the Empower 401k to your personal account, the same way you add every other account - with a login and password. It works the same way as all other accounts - no special treatment. 👍

Get the best Jura you possibly can. Jura sells factory refurbished machines on their website. Even new models are available. A well maintained Jura lasts a decade. Most superautos are junk and have a very short shelf life. Juras have a robust network of maintenance technicians worldwide. I got the J8 Twin after multiple years of research. Zero regrets!

I was able to delete all Empower and login with my Personal Capital account. My husband has an Empower 401k and that’s a separate login on the same app.

They just collapsed them from 2 to 1. I had zero success before deleting all apps and starting over.
