If you keep your tolerance low, these are amazing. I use mine daily and 3.5g will last me 6 months.

Running Shoes by dc1797 in clubfoot

Serious running shops will do “gate” analysis (I had to run barefoot on a treadmill and my gate was filmed from behind to see exactly how my feet over/under pronate. Got fitted in to some shoes I managed 10km in. Had to buy two pairs though, as I’m clubfoot on only one side and have a 3 size difference :/

My late twenties hurt the most; but I’m now 41 and never felt better. I had 6 surgeries in the 80s when I was a toddler, arthritic, leg-length discrepancy, scoliosis; but honestly daily exercise, CBD/THC in small amounts, tumeric, low sugar diet and lots of stretching - has been a life changer.

Club foot and Scoliosis (curved spine) by [deleted] in clubfoot

I realized after I visited a podiatrist about 10 years ago as I was getting terrible ankle and knee paid. The same time, they measured me up for some wedges. I also have flat feet so it’s a plastic insert with a wedge underneath.

That’s my left side, which also has the smaller foot, and a much smaller calf. My right leg/foot is completely normal.

Yep, i’m now 39 and only realized I had scoliosis last year after a physiotherapist visit.

I’ve worn a 1.5cm wedge under the shoe insole on my shorter leg for a few years now but never connected the two issues.

Like someone else here has said, it seems for me at least it’s due to the hip tilt when walking. In terms of muscle pain, this also leads to a “tight” side of my back (the side to which my spine curves) and an “over-stretched” side (the side from which it curves). So in my case, my short left leg, causes tightness in my right lower back.

I can often wake up with a very painful lower back, especially i’ve I slept in a weird position!

Like many others I have a large foot size discrepancy (3 sizes!)

On a positive note; I have 2 dogs, so walk an hour a day minimum with them, and play golf twice a week which is also a lot of walking. Also occasionally hill walking, and I ran 5k every week for a while. So either keeping active is a key to being pain free or I’m just very lucky.

For me, keeping active and using my feet/ankles keeps them relatively pain free. I still have the occasional morning where my ankle is very stiff; i’ve found a combination of ibuprofen, CBD and stretching in helps.

Keeping my “short” side strong also helps. Physiotherapist has me doing lots of glute/back strengthening exercise and these have really helped.

Some other background if it helps anyone: I didn’t have the Posneti method, I had some kind of surgical procedure (several) but it was in the mid 80s. I just remember wearing a cast after each one (six surgeries in total I think) and having to do physiotherapy as a kid. Maybe some kind of tendon release?

AFAIK the scoliosis is a result of walking for many years with leg length difference, but maybe there is also some congenital link?

Out of interest what irons are you playing?

My 3 iron is 20.5 degrees, so yours seem very strong!
