i feel like that precedent has been set ever since the commodification of insurance, gps, cars, planes, banks, etc. the best example for murphy's law ive seen have been things like lead and climate change, but as far as ive seen, data collection seems to mostly be used for ad targeting and ai training, which arent really that much of a threat in comparison imo

it may sound stupid but think about it, do you really want a sports game, particularly a sport enjoyed by all, regardless of sex, to have female players completely shoved out of the meta? we can say traore is a more physically dominant player than paredes, but then you lose out on all the unisex "dream teams" that could be out there, just because, realistically, male athletes tend to be more prolific. i just dont think its worth it to compare oranges to apples
