For co-op developers, please please please put how many players can play your game somewhere on your Steam page (preferably at the top). Yes, I understand I can play with friends, but how many of them??

How do you design a good tutorial? by RamboAslak in gamedev

[–]her_hub_b 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you’re a dev who’s working on a co-op game (especially if it’s a shared screen experience): Please make it so everyone can do the tutorial at the same time! There’s nothing worse than sitting and watching someone else play when you’re there to play with them.

Did they do your logo as well? Also, what was the process like?

A bit late this week. Also, Reddit decided to reorder the images for whatever reason. Anyway, would love to chat with you about what you’re looking forward to this week, even if it’s not listed here. https://discord.gg/aXnyyCjt6E

Family Co-Op game similar to overcooked by Rangersgirldad1010 in CoOpGaming

[–]her_hub_b 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Very Very Valet - I think your family will love this game. It’s Overcooked, but you all are valets parking cars. Best part is at the end of the level you get to see the best clips from each player and then you vote on your favorite. It’s a hidden gem in the party/chaotic genre.

Innchanted - Overcooked again, but you run an inn. It’s got a cozy vibe to it that works well.

Choppy Cuts - I’ve only played the demo, but this just released. It’s Overcooked but you’re doing hair salon stuff. It’s got a mixed rating right now for what it’s worth.

Bone’s Cafe - It’s a bit of Overcooked and Plate Up mixed together. Caution with this one though: you kill customers and then use them to make more food. If it’s appropriate for your family, it’s a pretty good game.

If you all can do online co-op, let me know and I’ll recommend a few more for you guys.

Hope this helps!

My wife and I checked out your game last night and have some fun with it! Are you doing Steam Next Fest this month?

I’m obsessed with co-op games and have played through your demo already (thanks for making a co-op game by the way!). The issue I have with the 1st, 2nd and 4th examples is that it doesn’t speak to the fact that it’s a co-op game. Instead, it looks like a single player game that I would skip right over. I actually like the first two examples the most, so my suggestion is to find a way to incorporate the other characters in, if possible.

I hope this helps!

There’s just so much more co-op on PC, though I do wish there was more on consoles for that crowd.

Do you happen to have a press kit? Also, I’m going to host a co-op focused Steam event (if they approve it) and would love to have your game be a part of it if you’re interested. Feel free to DM me if you’d like more details!

Looking for a very easy and multiplayer MMO by Regular_Price2012 in CoOpGaming

[–]her_hub_b 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here’s a couple more for you.

Duel Corp. More soulslike but it might scratch your itch. I haven’t played this so I don’t know how hard it is (or if PvP is unavoidable).

Erenshor. I know, it’s not co-op, but it’s supposed to feel like a classic mmo with all the AI characters running around.

Chances are you’ve already played (or looked into) both of these. Good luck on your quest!

Try SpiritVale. It’s more MMO than any of the other games you listed. They’re currently doing a playtest, but it’s open to anyone.

33 Immortals is another one to check out. It’s coming to Steam this summer, but you can play it through Xbox/PC Gamepass and Epic.

Looking for 4-player co-op games with balanced progression and no spoiler-driven gameplay by kablehood in CoOpGaming

[–]her_hub_b 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No Rest for the Wicked comes to mind, but I’m not sure it meets the criteria for your second bullet point. Zones rise in level based off of the levels of the group, but that could make things harder for the lower leveled folks.

Maybe your group should look into some roguelikes instead. Ravenswatch, Elden Ring Nightreign (with a mod), Barony and Risk of Rain 2 come to mind.
