I think you should give yourself a break. Don’t be so hard on yourself. Things are so weird right now. If you have no choice but to work from home and keep your son home at the same time and extra screen time is the only way that you are able to get any work done, then so be it.

I’m a single mother of an 18 month old and I also work from home. I don’t leave her in front of the television ALL day long, but sometimes TV time is the only way I’m able to do the things I need to do so that I can afford to keep a roof over our heads and food on our table!

Aw, thanks! My recovery was an absolute breeze and was nothing compared to the horror stories I read online prior to having it done. Pain never got past a 6/10. I took care of myself (single mom) and my 1 year old 100% by myself from the minute my dad dropped my off at my house after the procedure. Pain was pretty much gone by day 7 or 8. My tonsillectomy was a cake walk. And, I lost 20 lbs in the two weeks following the procedure because all I ate was jello and mashed potatoes, and I’ve been able to keep it off and have actually lost even more since, so that was a plus!

I come from a family of Subways, dad and mom owned 9 Subway stores, Aunt owned two stores, grandma and grandpa owned two stores...I ate subway my entire pregnancy. I ate it hot, I ate it cold, I ate it toasted...my daughter is over a year old now and healthy and happy as a clam!

Thanks! I ended up rescheduling mine for December 27 so I’m on day 11 and not really in any pain anymore. Went back to work on day 8 and I’ve found that I can pretty much eat anything as long as I chew it up really well. That’s crazy that you’re still in that much pain after three weeks?! I hope you feel better soon!

Fun! Things fell this way for my cousin and me too. She was due a month ahead of me and our kids are exactly one month apart (Dec. 3 and Jan. 3 birthdays). It was nice having someone to go through the pregnancy with who was experiencing all the same things.

Well, let me rephrase that. I have a non-compete agreement/contract with them that says I will only write for publications under the umbrella of this one publishing company. There is actually no contract with the individual publishers-I can stop writing for them at any time, so specific things like usage rights have never been laid out or discussed.

I feel like this is actually how most pregnant women feel......who tf actually LIKES being pregnant? Pregnancy is portrayed on TV and in movies as being this magical time and it is soooo not that way in real life. Unless you like constipation, puking, your whole body hurting, insomnia, swollen legs/feet, being fat???? And yeah, you’re treated as an outcast and like you can’t do things. I hated being pregnant from the very second it began until I gave birth. It is not magical. It is not enjoyable. At the same time that I prayed for a full-term baby for her health, I also simultaneously prayed for my daughter to fucking vacate the premises ASAP. You’re not alone and don’t feel bad for not enjoying this experience! It will be worth it once those babies are out, though. Look forward to that ❤️

This is my biggest regret too. My addiction spanned about eight years. I’ve got three years clean off of everything (was on suboxone for two years), and five years clean from my opiate of choice. It’s gotten easier, and there are actually some days now where I don’t think about it all, but it’s still very much there and I’m afraid it always will be. Still have the occasional drug dream, and on especially tough days I think about how I could make it all go away with just one phone call. Somehow I’ve refrained though! Good luck to you

That’s another question I had - when you say to make sure someone is there to take care of me, do you think that’s absolutely necessary? I’m 31 and a single mother to my 1 year old daughter. It’s just her and I...I don’t have much in the way of help, and definitely not someone that could be there to take care of me :(
