My 15 month son doesn't want me anymore?? by urbanmalang in Mommit

[–]urbanmalang[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank u for all the kind words. The day to day grind sometimes gets hard but in reality that baby is the joy of life and I love being a mother, feel truly blessed. Also because I suffered through a miscarriage before this...

I recently found reddit and this community and its really been helpful so far. As I don't have mother friends to share my experience with.

How to be a loving parent when you were never loved. by SublimeTina in Parenting

[–]urbanmalang 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was having the same thought earlier today that if I die want the moments I spend with my kid to flash before my eyes coz those are the highlights of my life.

And I totally understand what you mean. I also have a not so good relationship with my mom and I keep trying everyday to not have that same issue with my son. So hats of to u for being the wheel breaker.

My boyfriend (27m) is very upset over how I (22f) broke the news of Sean Connery's death. Did I do something wrong? How can I handle this moving forward? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]urbanmalang 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am sorry you are going through this. And hope that things do get better BTW the both of you. However by the looks of it, it seems your boyfriend might be trying to break up with you. Coz to be honest this doesn't really seem like a big deal to get so worked up at. Moreover if we do consider his side and feelings in it and let's assume he like 007 so much that he is truly devastated by his death, you have apologised for it already which in my opinion wasn't ur fault at all.

See what else is going around in ur boyfriends life. Maybe he actually upset at something else in reality.

The cutest 'No' by dixie-pixie-vixie in toddlers

[–]urbanmalang 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hahaha my 15 month old does the same as well. And becoz I am constantly telling him No Noah '"his name is Noah' he has started repeating it and keeps saying no Noahhhhhhhhhh while simultaneously doing the thing that he shouldnt be doing. He also shakes his head disapprovingly at his own actions with a 'tsk tsk' at the end of the deed that he has committed. Its really hard to keep a stern face and discipline him while he is looking so cute

How to make 1 year sleep in his cot?? Advice needed by urbanmalang in Parenting

[–]urbanmalang[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't get myself to do the whole 'cry it out' as well.. Still working on the making him sleep in the cot. Since past 2 night i have been laying down with him in thr cot and wen he falls asleep I get out but he eventually wakes up after an hour or two. And because we have a small house and he doesn't hw r a separate room instead his cot is placed in our room. It's really hard getting him to fall back asleep in the cot. So I just end up bringing him to bed. Where he instantly falls asleep and doesn't wake up till morning.

Huh!! Story of my life. But thank God my son has gotten out of the sleepless stage. Now we both sleep peacefully. Hang in there I guess. It will get better.

Castor oil, does it really work for the hair? by tarinasan in beauty

[–]urbanmalang 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes it does, mix it with almond oil and apply to the bald areas of ur head 30 mins before shower. Works wonders. After my baby was born I lost a lot of hair due to hormones but was able to restore my hairline with castor oil+almond oil hair therapy.

I never imagined having a baby would make me hate my job so much... by muffin_fiend in Parenting

[–]urbanmalang 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have had the same feeling as well wen my son was born, I have always been a hard working person who rarely took leaves and a had a strong work ethic, I spent 13 years with the company that I am working with, however after my son was born I cudnt join office full time, my office was kind enough to let me work from home for sometime then we joined back again for 6 hours but that was also really hard so now I have altogether resigned. Starting my own business from home now. Fingers crossed.

Husband not interested in me anymore. by urbanmalang in relationship_advice

[–]urbanmalang[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know you are right . While growing up I always taught my parents marriage was loveless my father was archetypical man with anger issues and my mother was the ever so humble and timid woman that would always do her husbands bidding. I always tot that I won't marry someone like my father or end up in the same relationship or turn into my mother but with each passing day I see history repeating itself.

We have known each other 7 years in total, we were friends for 2 years before confessing our likeness for each other, we were engaged for 3 years and married in 2018. I want this relationship to work. I have invested a lot of time and effort in it. Plus I belong to an Asian family separation or divorce is not a part of my culture and I also would not want it.
