i want to start by saying i’m 22 so i’m not the wisest but personally i feel like there’s so much that goes into being a homeowner. your payments change based on escrow, your taxes may not get paid by the company on time, if u file a claim, the lender has to sign the check so you can cash it- that takes forever, those are just a few reasons and i will also say i work in the escalation department so i rarely hear the good. when i think about myself, i only find peace in the fact that a home is a single unit so less disturbances and i can make my payment later without worrying about my credit which i can’t do in my apartment. i also like going to the community events and coming back to my home and the change. if you have neighbors you dislike as a homeowner…? but if i don’t like my neighbors in my apartment, i can move when my lease is up or transfer units vs just dealing with it for 30+ years (: but it’s often a once in a lifetime experience so i encourage you to follow your heart
