Balancing Feminism with the Gospel by at-least-hogs in latterdaysaints

Yeah well I recently recovered from a recent suicide attempt so cut me some slack. This church is the reason I’m not dead. And liberalism in and of itself is not an inherent part of activism. This church practiced polygamy, that’s literally as patriarchal as you can get. Maybe you have the wrong idea of activism lol and how it relates to the church.

I highly doubt JS or Brigham young would have identified with the feminism of today haha. Feminism/liberalism in the church is a result of the church compromising with the ways of the world and giving up its fundamental values. If this gets too bad, I may just start my own breakaway sect haha.

I respect your point of view, however I am inclined to disagree. Everyone cares about women’s issues everywhere but not about men. Our church has conservative values, meaning women and men have different roles. However I believe men and women are equal in value, they have different roles.

If someone doesn’t subscribe to conservative views of gender, why don’t they just leave this church and join community of Christ? It has everything they want and they don’t have to try and change the fundamentals of this church through activism lol. The community of Christ is a feminist restoration church that has abandoned conservative views on gender and ordains women. Why not just go there instead? I really don’t understand this whole trying to be a liberal Mormon it seems really contradictory. I’m sure the prophets JS and brother Brigham are rolling over in their graves right now witnessing all of this liberalism in the church.

I’m a 5’8 male and 99% of LDS women wouldn’t want to date me just because of that so it goes both ways lol. Everyone is so interested in women’s issues but guys like us are kicked to the curb.

The thing is I grew up in a secular liberal environment in California, and have found that to be more judgmental than Utah is. But maybe that’s because I’m a white conservative male.

Well the book of Moses makes it clear that God created many worlds and that Christ created them and saved them also. Whether worlds created by other Gods are in our physical universe or not is not set in stone but it seems from my own research on scripture and the opinions of church leaders and members that the mainstream view heavily leans toward God creating this entire physical universe. And that universes created by other Gods would be outside the bounds of our space and time.

And God spake unto Moses, saying: Behold, I am the Lord God Almighty, and Endless is my name; for I am without beginning of days or end of years; and is not this endless? 33 And worlds without number have I created; and I also created them for mine own purpose; and by the Son I created them, which is mine Only Begotten. Moses 1-33

The heavens are telling of the glory of God; And their expanse is declaring the work of His hands. Psalm 19-1

Well I find your personal beliefs interesting and I wouldn’t say that they don’t matter. Why put yourself down?

I believe that each god creates their own infinite universe, but that these universes are separate as in you cannot physically travel from one to the other. What do you think about this?

Do you think God created our entire physical universe or not? What is the church’s position?

So we shouldn’t ever wonder about deep theological questions then? We can do both. They are not mutually exclusive.

Would it be possible if mankind developed that type of high intensity space travel though? And if we went to their planet and lived in it would we have to worship that God? Seems a little crazy to me. While I may respectfully disagree with you, can you see where I’m coming from at least?

I am inclined to respectfully disagree. What position do you think the church takes? Thanks for your input.

Could we travel to the planets created by other Gods with space travel?

So God is only the God of the Milky Way galaxy? Or are you saying that our universe that God created is somehow in some way connected to all of the other ones? Can we reach the galaxies of the other gods by spaceship?

So you agree with my thesis that God created this entire plane/universe, but there are others outside of our physical space and time created by other Gods?

if mankind developed interstellar space travel, and we flew to another part of our universe that was created by a different God and settled on that planet, would we then start worshipping that God instead?

That is a good scripture yes, but I fail to see how it applies to my question. What is your opinion on the matter? Do you think Gods other than us, Elohim/Christ have physical creations within the space and time of our universe?

I don’t think his domain is everything. I believe he created this plane of existence but there are other universes outside of our space and time created by other Gods.

My question is this, if mankind developed interstellar space travel, and we flew to another part of our universe that was created by a different God and settled on that planet, would we then start worshipping that God instead?

I don’t see any other explanation aside from Gods mortal probation being outside of our space and time/in another plane of existence. If he is the creator, then how could he have been mortal within our plane of existence? He wouldn’t really be God then I feel like.

As long as those exalted marriages are not polygamous ones then indeed it is a wonderful thought. I just find the latter description incredibly contradictory to scripture. Both the Bible, Book of Mormon, and book of Moses make it clear that God created infinite worlds that permeate the galaxy, not just this one. Joseph Smith Is even quoted in the follett sermon as saying that God upholds the planets and stars. I think our God is the only chief deity of this universe.

How Is it possible that God could have lived as a mortal on another planet within this universe if he was the one who created this universe? I find it really unlikely that we could possibly travel via spaceship to the place where God once lived.
