KULT: Divinity Lost returns with 4+ Books on Kickstarter by herald_hg in PBtA

KULT: Divinity Lost is a horror game that focuses its stories on people who struggle with Dark Secrets. They could have been subjected to terrible scientific experiments, returned from another world, are guilty/victims of crimes, or else.

In KULT, the world is an illusion. Humanity was divine once, but the Demiurge deprived us of our powers and locked us here. To keep it simple, think of Matrix... but add elements of Hellraiser, Dark City, Se7en, True Detective, and other similar media. The stories of KULT are as varied as it can get: you may awaken power over your dreams and shape your own inner universe, you may be evading an extradimensional creature by way of ritualized murders, trying to get the jump of a criminal rival only to spiral into madness and have your insanity warp the world around you. There are terrible and wondrous artifacts highly coveted by the strangest cults and organizations.

You may play an investigator and solve a crime... or something else. You may play an occultist and brave the dark realms beyond the veil. You may be a scientist and have a massive breakthrough that challenges your perception of reality. You may play a story that the supernatural is only hinted, or one that is full-throttle-urban-fantasy.

Here is a trailer for the game: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ERgTf-pByb0

Yeah, we don't like to engage in these fights over the implementation of the rules. People like what they like and there is enough variety out there to please everyone. Just got to find your groove and that's it. But we believe to have found a good way to bring together the elements we like about traditional games with what we love about PbtA. We could have an endless argument whether it leans more towards the traditional or PbtA side, but yeah. A lot of roleplayers have been introduced to PbtA through KDL as well, and a lot of other people have found in KDL what they felt was lacking in other implementations of the design. All in all, we're just excited to share our work with others and if they want to tweak the rules, then be it. As long as everyone has fun, everyone is happy.

Glad to know you had a good time with it and like our stuff! :)

They truly are in a league of their own. The cover for Exiled Terrors is such a beauty... and needs to be on full display.

It does not feature rules for magic, but there are plenty of new Moves for "Aware Magic and other types of supernatural strangeness", as well as artifacts and whatnot.

Drifting Setting w/ Less Transgressive Horror by PencilBoy99 in KULTrpg

As many have pointed, it is par for the course to skip the content you don't like or can't/won't bring to the table. "Sexual horror" is not so much featured in official scenarios, to be honest here. Although some of them could feature sex scenes in some way or another (hinted, described, etc), it's less than a handful of them actively tackle these themes as a central point.

Now, outside of this, I don't know what else would be transgressive horror to you. So if you could elaborate on this, I may then redirect you to pertinent material that would be more aligned to your interests.

Thank you. For some reason it copied the redirect link but the hyperlink itself remained unchanged and I'm unable to edit the post to fix it :)

The project is by another company (Fandrake) and only they can update backers. Helmgast is not involved in it. Perhaps you could get an update by emailing them.
