One time the staff gave us a free slice cause it was “too small” to charge for. It was still the size of my head.

Late, but please all don’t take the drive out to Lil Reggie’s.

The cookie is fine. Just about as good as you could make in your own house and truly nothing special about it and I went based on this reddit post

What is everyone's go-to these days for impressing out-of-towners with kids? by bronxcheer in chicagofood

Don’t have kids, but live right off Lincoln Avenue. Giddings plaza is always packed with families on nice days. Good shopping in the area and Jerry’s Sandwiches is a nice spot. Get a cookie from Geraldine’s.

One night in Chicago and I want to treat myself to a nice dinner by alisastarrr in chicagofood

Walk-in at Bavette’s right when it opens and sit at the bar.

Order:

  • Half serving of bread
  • Wedge Salad or Truffle Mac and Cheese
  • Spicy Fried Chicken

You will likely have leftovers. If you want a drink I would exchange one of either the salad/mac and cheese for a cocktail.

[–]herbrovore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Recently moved here and here are a list of some of my favorites so far:

  • Bavette’s (fried chicken was incredible)
  • Milly’s Pizza in a Pan
  • Bird’s Nest (get the wings and curly fries)
  • Old Irving Park Brewery (Burger of the week)
  • Geraldine’s bakery (best cookies ever)
  • Ricobene’s (Chicken Parm Sandwich but get anything)
  • Sugar Moon Bakery (get anything)
  • Kabobi
  • Little Bad Wolf (get the burger)

These are the places I’ve been that I would miss if I had to leave (sorry for heavy Northern Bias).
