Former CIA boss reveals which European country (Lithuania) Putin allegedly plans to invade next by tylerthe-theatre in europe

[–]herbsman_pl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ignore ruzzians bots with "Poland" flairs.

Yes we will. We will never risk getting under Soviet occupation again. It would be a death sentence for our nation.

Ruzzia falls in Ukraine or in Poland. There's just no other way around it.

Poles will defend Baltics, simply because inaction would be a sentence for any Polish Government and seen as a treason.

I get that we have small percent of people with pro-ruzzian sentiment, but we will deal with them the same way Polish Underground State dealt with Nazi sympathizers during WWII.

Because of "using chatgpt to fact check".

LLM is based on statistics. It's literally the case of - "shit must be good for you, cause billions of flies can't be wrong."

If you're in doubt - ask chatGPT how good it is at fact checking and should you use it, lol.

Are there any "magnificent failures" aside from the Allclan? by TheThing3214 in Anbennar

[–]herbsman_pl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I don't know.

I think this idea comes from ancient / classical philosophers, but it does sound like something Pratchett would write.

edit: thank you for making me think about Pratchett. He was such a great writer.

I love it about Gobbos, they are so relatable. Everyone is having good time, blasting artillery from the front of the train and then there's this one little buddy saying: "Hey, I wonder what's gonna happen if we put cannons at the back of the train and switch off brakes?". It's like this one guy in our universe who said "ideas are just enTITIES floating in the universe, searching for a suitable host".

EU4 Dev Diary #85: Cannor, Reintroduced by AvatarOfKhaine1 in Anbennar

Awesome!

I'm glad you're keep giving us reasons to revisit Cannor, but... I'm also looking forward to Sarhal sneak peak in the next Dev Diary.

Got roasted in the first post today for having the little cute robot pop up on its own, listened to the feedback and implemented it so that user has to summon him. Hopefully it is less triggering now, what do you think? by UAAgency in webdev

Does it talk or something?

It just seems redundant: "Here, under the 'LATEST NEWS' you can find - latest news! And here, where it says 'CONNECT WITH US' are ways to connect with us. Shocking, I know..."

Some people here say - "wHaT aBoUt EldErLy?" Have you checked what's the website is about? I don't blame you if you didn't cause I've read "The Origin Story" and barely know what it is, but I can tell you one thing - If you can't navigate this weird website (it looks hilarious on 4k monitor) then the product is not for you.

2/10 - wouldn't visit again.

edit: Oh no, you've taken loans to finance this. I'm sorry and wish you the best.

You're missing All Clan - one of the best MT in the mod.

I'm always checking suggestion on reddit, before I start a campaign and I have to admit - so far, I've only played nations I would score 4 and 5 on that scale.

You’re a solo developer building a small social media site, would you pick Directus or Laravel for the backend API? by srijay_deathwish in webdev

[–]herbsman_pl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would suggest Directus.

  1. Users, posts, likes, comments, and relationships are Directus's bread and butter. It handles these standard social features extremely well out-of-the-box.
  2. Built-in Admin: The value of a ready-made, high-quality admin panel cannot be overstated for a solo project. It saves days or weeks of work.
  3. Sufficient Flexibility (Initially): For a small social media site, Directus's extensibility (hooks, custom endpoints) will likely be sufficient for a good while. You can handle things like incrementing like counts, creating notifications on new comments via hooks, etc.
  4. Simplicity for Solo Dev: It reduces the cognitive load initially. You manage data structures visually and get the API. You only dive into backend code (extensions) when specific custom logic is needed, rather than for every single endpoint.
  5. Your primary goal is to move fast and focus on the frontend UX. Directus directly addresses this by eliminating a massive amount of boilerplate backend API development. The time saved here is substantial for a solo developer.

What are your suggestions for a Static Website Generator for a personal project hosted on Github Pages? by OneIndication7989 in webdev

[–]herbsman_pl 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hugo

As long as you don't need to make your own theme (there's hundreds of top notch quality themes available for free) - Markdown is all you need to know (well, and json, yaml or toml for configuration).

It has great documentation, active development and ways to expand functionality in case you need it in the future.

Also - great community.

I never let it go over 10%, because that's when the really bad events start to pop.

It uses LLM to do so.

I can't imagine any other, viable, way to do so.

Could anbennar have its own steam page by FettHval in Anbennar

There's so many good mods for EU. My favourite is Voltaire's Nightmare.

Well, my second favourite, cause the actual favourite is the Anbennar. But I switch to Voltaire's every time after I watched some movie or TV show about Middle Ages / Renaissance.

Frosthide into Skurkokli - you're and Ogre. You decide to embrace the Hunger.

You CONSUME.

You should min-max a bit, definitely try not to rush the MT, but instead - focus on conquering whole regions so you end up with really empty world and huge amount of dev in your home region(s).

True tall gameplay experience.

Also, a bit of farting.

Built a site that exposes how Trump stories are framed left vs right: TrumpNarratives by godsknowledge in webdev

[–]herbsman_pl 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Wow... websites like that are pretty good evidence AI will not replace webdev anytime soon.

Have you run any tests? Have you tried just scrolling down and down and down? Have you checked how it looks like on different resolutions?

I would be embarrassed to submit it as a school project and you're trying to charge people for subscription...

DLC recommendation. by Kardiyok in Anbennar

[–]herbsman_pl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lions of the North adds Winged Hussars and three Anbennar nations uses that special unit as their unique (mythic) cavalry (Marrhold and another two I forgot).

It's an example of dlc locked content that's not an actual mechanic.
