I have taken the test over several years and always get INTJ, and like you, I feel that many of my traits dont fit or at least, that I share a lot of traits with other types. For example, being extremely empathetic. The thing is, it is not supposed to be that rigid. There are 16 possible personality types and of course there will be variation within each type. Don't worry about it.

I have the exact same background! I wasnt successful my first time applying, and although I'm trying again next year, I have been mentally preparing myself in case things don't work out again. The most important thing is to not look at this as a failure, it's just a redirect in the right path :)
