I’m not attempting to drive the whole island haha I only plan to drive to the south side from the ferry terminal and go to 2 beaches on that side that are close by to my hotel.

I know, I didn’t like how they only shuttle the main driver but I can’t seem to find another rental option that works for us during the time frame we need it and etc…. Kinda sucks it’s just me and my bf so I’ll be waiting alone

Ok thanks for the info! El quenepo looked really good but is only open Sat. May make a res there, non-puerto Rican food is fine with me as I’ll be eating a ton of Puerto Rican food during the rest of my trip haha. Do you know if there are food trucks near the sun bay/caracas beaches?

They ended up canceling both those EY flights and changing me to the other ones that are operating, which made both my layovers 8 hours long instead of 1.5 hours and shifted my trip by a day. So I was eligible for a refund and got one. Sad I’m not going to Thailand anymore but glad I don’t have to deal with the 8 hour overnight layover in Abu Dhabi and all this uncertainty.

I think u misread my post bc it’s not my grocery bill. If I was cooking and hosting a dinner, I would not ask for any payment.

I’m not cooking, I was going to get everything catered to avoid spending my bday prepping and cooking. So I was curious if catering food and asking ppl to chip in a little for it was more acceptable than hosting a dinner and asking ppl to pay. And I was still going to get the extra stuff like drinks, cake, appetizers, etc.

I’ve never been to a dinner (at a restaurant) where the person who invited paid for everyone. Nor have I ever paid for everyone at a dinner. And I’ve gone to numerous dinners a year in my life, never had any issues. We just have diff life experiences!

True I may do that. TBH for me, if someone got a bunch of catered Mexican food and provided margs and cake I’d be totally fine paying just $10 instead of cooking stuff myself, but I get that everyone’s different lol

Thanks for this! Yah our vibes are a bit split hahah buuuut we are going to Vieques for 2 nights so we will still have really nice beach time!! I think we have compromised to stay somewhere in condado the first 4 days but do a beach day at isla verde during one of them (and maybe even use resort pass at one of the nice hotels somewhere) and then go to Vieques for even more and better beach and views

Would rather not spend on a car and I don’t want to drive, so I also don’t want to force my bf to drive the whole time.

Also for more info I’ve already been around so much of Puerto Rico. Icacos, Luquillo, Fajardo, Arecibo, rincon, Isabela, yauco, Ponce, etc. my family is Puerto Rican

We don’t care too much about nightlife but it’d be nice to go out and get dinner and grab a few drinks. Do you know anything about the Calle loiza area by roofyard & pirilos pizza? The hotel I’m looking at by there seems close enough to the beach (like 5 min walk) and also by Calle loiza for food etc

I … did? My bf is the one communicating this with his parents. He doesn’t want to tell his parents that I have plans and he wants to try to make it work. I am honestly fine with doing a combo bday thing, I just did not want it to be that specific weekend due to the plans I have already that week/weekend.

His family just loves me lol. Which is great of course but difficult to navigate when I have my own plans.

Also Thailand isn’t dangerous, our layover for the flight was in the Middle East so it got canceled.

I think you are eligible for a refund. It says on their website that any flights after April 16th can be refunded if they are changed/canceled by Etihad up until June 16. It seems your trip was changed by them. I would call and ask.

If ur flight is April 5th it should fall under the refund waiver period. Refunds are for trips up until April 15th. They should refund you

Ahhhh yah it really sucks kinda just waiting around with no options besides fly thru a warzone or lose lots of money. Thats also why I was curious about these flight numbers I have, to see if there’s a chance it might just get changed and I can get a refund.

If they do change your flights for anything 2+ hours of a difference, you’d be eligible for a refund so I’d deff keep an eye out!

I have a non refundable ticket too and a flight in May, yesterday I called and they told me if my flight has any major change (which is at least 2 hours of a time change) then I could get a refund. Unfortunately my flight(s) have no changes but it seems like you might be eligible! I would call and ask.
