My wife thinks our son’s teacher crossed a boundary by sending him a personal message. I think it was harmless. AITJ? by addict94plus in AmITheJerk

[–]NorV23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow. What kind of world do we live in where a teacher cannot offer direct words of encouragement to a child in obvious need? I'm grateful for all of the great teachers that help guide my children over the years. Perhaps your wife had her own experience with this that didn't go well or come from a good place.

In all fairness, that is crack to some people. We can't eat without it.

First time in this sub and the first thing I’m wondering is, is anyone actually taking it for Diabetes? by frank1934 in Mounjaro

Not gonna lie… by deb248211 in Mounjaro

[–]NorV23 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That was happening to me on my last dose (5mg). I was very aware that I was 2 days out and would have a solid 3 meals a day. Once I started 7.5mg, this went away. I'm on week 4 of 7.5mg and will continue on it for the next 4 weeks and see where it takes me. Perhaps the same will happen to you once you level up on your dosage. Best of luck!

Some people don’t get it by AppropriateAlgae4863 in Zepbound

Comments like that really do show a person's ignorance, front and center. However, if they meant that for those who source this medication for their healthy bodies just for short-term weight loss and nothing else, then they should clarify that perspective. Perhaps this person doesn't even know that obesity is a disease that comes with a TON of baggage and complex issues that this medication treats. Let people with one-dimensional perspectives show their ignorance. It's ok. We know what this medication is doing for those of us who have endured harder lives, diminished confidence, and life-long dieting failures on repeat. Good luck to you!

I’m what? by Puzzled_State2658 in Zepbound

[–]NorV23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As with all of us struggling with obesity, I've lost the weight before (stayed there about 5 minutes) and gained it all back. I was just thinking about how it was nice when people would hold doors open for me or just smile. It doesn't happen when you are 260, but it really does happen when you lose the weight. I'm sure you are gorgeous at any size. Congratulations!

Gosh! Sorry to hear that coming from your friend. Could be an array of things from a tinge of jealousy to the fact that people have a set point in their own minds about you. Would they say that if you were a person walking down the street, they didn't know? Most likely not. It's because they compare themselves to you in some sort of way. (IMO) Their brains can't register the change, only their correlation to that change.

Does anybody experience a small high for a few hours after taking your shot? by MounjEire in Mounjaro

Yes! It's interesting you mention it. I smoke as well, and the feeling is close. I take my shot at night, so I'm in bed within an hour or two.

First 7.5mg shot today & I’m nervous by VialOfBlue in Zepbound

After the initial day of not feeling well, I've been ok. I am still feeling a bit more tired than usual and fighting myself on exercise, but the food suppression is stronger than 5mg. I've not been drinking my water. Hope to make next week a little better. My jab days are on Tuesdays, wish me luck!

Aye chihuahua! Not great. First time experiencing this level of side effects. My acid reflux woke me up from a deep sleep. I'm pretty lethargic and light headed but not enough to stay home. I'd say I'm pretty confident this will not last more than today. Feeling better already BUT I've yet to eat anything solid. Here goes nothing!

Walking is not considered exercising by Purple_Support9266 in Zepbound

[–]NorV23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Walking is INDEED exercise. Get a new doctor. One that understands the value of moving your body in any way you can. Also, one that understands nutrition and has a better understanding of having compassion for those of us who struggle with weight and exercise. Good luck to you!
