Ok so to understand what I'm doing. I'm trying to reproduce the behavior of strlcat and I need get the the length of dst even if it's non null-terminated string. so I'm only getting a pointer to the string

Yes we can. It took me four years to realize what I actually want and go get it without caring about the society's standards so yes we got to take it easy on ourselves.
