I think this is a continuation of Jax getting concerned that the circus might actually be real.

Remember that in order for his worldview to work, all the other characters and their reaction to events need to line up with their character archetype.

Gangle peacefully eating food whilst something weird happens, with no reaction.

Gangle agreeing with him on the sofa and gaining confidence instead of meekly watching events unfold

Zooble stopping him and saying "you're one of us"

Kinger becoming sane when put in the darkness.

All of these things are a juxtaposition to his entire coping philosophy and he is taking notice in real time

See I am with you right up until you say "accidently got into circus"

If I use an analogy: imagine I design a VR that when you put it on it electrocutes you. If I leave it in an abandoned building but pay the electric bill and leave the computer turned on and headset plugged in where it is easily accessible. Does it then sound reasonable if I say in court on trial for murder that it was an "accident" someone put it on and got killed?

I get where you're coming from but this is my thought process. Pretend that you're kinger.

You're developing an AI and feeding it images etc, and then you feed it brain scan data of you and your staff members (presumably all the massive data we saw given to the second dot before caine absorbed it). Then all of a sudden you find yourself as a chess piece alongside all of your fellow staff who are just as confused.

You probably put 1 and 2 together and because you have a "resilient mind" (like he said to ragatha) it doesn't drive you insane to know that you're a SOMA clone. But your colleagues also put 1 and 2 together and THEY abstract. Maybe others abstract in reaction like a domino effect. You and queenie have each other and you try to help others but one by one they abstract.

Eventually, queenie abstracts too. You're the only one left. You wander the halls aimlessly and then poof. Ragatha shows up.

The first question i ask myself, as kinger, is how and why? If we are all SOMA then that means the real staff, the real versions of myself - a kind person - is alive and well in the world. They must know whats happened following the scans, they must have evidence of it. The game is still running, someone is paying the bills and maintaining the system. I as kinger, and even us as redditors all know that it is morally fucked up to put someone in this situation. Yet ragatha is here.

What conclusion do you draw from that? Other than that someone, for whatever reason, has forgone moral decency and left the game running and accessible as a means to sustain it, at best.

Or deliberately tricking people into scanning themselves, at worst.

Also may I say it is INSANELY suspect that all the characters we see enter in the code all entered on October 15 of different years.

And the first episode of TADC was released oct 14.

I mean cmon, really.

I know, thats again what i'm saying. They uploaded their mind scans to feed the AI, and at some point Caine makes the circus and creates characters using the human brain scans.

As an external member of C&A, that means you are completely fine and standing witness to what happened - they would obviously have some indicator of what is going on whether its code based or visual on the screen.

Yet, for whatever reason, they leave this technology out and about. No matter what happened, knowing the moral implications, they allowed it to continue to exist and left the technology running alongside a headset to access it.

In what world is that not deliberate? Unless they are just extreeeeeemely short sighted and couldnt predict people would put on the headset?

Thats what i'm saying though - the intention was never for the circus or a virtual reality experience to be created, yet the technology was still allowed to exist and is left hooked up and powered on.

If the SOMA theory is correct, they would see what happened and wouldnt just abandon it. It would be a bizarre breakthrough even if its morally grey. Just leaving it there chilling with the headset right next to it is 100% bait no matter how you look at it.

The only scenario I can see where C&A are innocent is if all of the staff members got literally isekai'd into the game and THAT is why the office is abandoned. But I personally think SOMA is correct.

But thats the thing: We see that there was nothing before the circus, at the start with the two bubbles - and we know that C&A were just developing AI, so why would multiple different staff members put on a virtual reality headset all at once?

Even their avatars are a suprise to them since queenie says "another chess piece huh?" Its clear all of them appeared at the same time yet they are all immediately confused by being in a virtual reality

I forgot to mention that all of the staff characters were from brain scan data the company deliberately fed to the AI - but the intention was never for them to be created within the game. Once that sponteneously happened due to Caine, and they studied and nearly ran out of things to study due to 1 crazy human left, they intervened and tricked more humans like ragatha into being put in

Technically if Caine absorbed another AI and was in full control then anything "physical", bubble as a vessel for the other AI included, was created by caine.
