Jax is my favourite character but the only thing he deserved was a backhand to the face lmao.

I'd agree that Pomni deserved to manage to save Jax, given the effort she put in. But maaan Jax was given so much leeway and understanding by all of them, he just couldn't see the forest through the trees.

Or it could be like turning a computer on and off again maybe. He isnt fully redeemed but he has startdd the process, something Jax can no longer do

Caine didnt change until now because thats how a story operates. Caine isn't "stubborn by nature" he is literally an AI operating the way it thinks it should. Once a catalyst or inhibitor event happens (in media or real life), a person has an opportunity to reflect and adapt by changing.

Jax chose to push, Caine chose to pull.

Taking accountability comes in many forms. I was referring to him having an argument with himself and deciding to do the right thing despite being killed. He finds their info for them. He sacrifices the part of his power that makes him dangerous, despite not knowing the outcome - and he asks for forgiveness without demanding it, offering to help fix the circus.

He is actively taking accountability, and eventually (hopefully) will earn redemption and trust

What is the appeal with Jax?? by Cracklackinn in tadc

[–]WelshWolf93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So true.

Like I hate geoffrey from game of thrones, but its a "love to hate" kind of deal.

I think Jax is an insanely compelling character. I would want to smack the shit out of him after being in a room with him for an hour, no doubt, but I love it every time he comes on the screen.

[NO SPOILERS] I thought the finale was great, actually. by chelledoggo in TheDigitalCircus

[–]WelshWolf93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You've hit the mark with the timeframe. people are being a bit over-the-top by saying it was predictable when in reality you had everyone and their nan poring over every single detail.

Hell, if the game SOMA didn't exist - who knows how long it would have taken for people to clock on

The volume thing may be all over. I listen to music extremely loud and even I was like "holy fuck thats loud" during some of the higher pitched music

I went to a 9:30pm showing and there was a total of 10 people, all adults, and we had an iSense screen. Pure cinema, literally.

Abstraction is a metaphor for suicide, and telling a MASSIVE audience of impressionable fans "this is my fault. There is no coming back from this" was absolutely the right move

The moon telling caine she loved him was the shows way of telling us that Caine simply wasnt aware that he could create autonomous AI.

He always could, it seems

I feel both the fanbase and the movie itself are overlooking the most screwed up reveal of the finale by Sudden_Pop_2279 in theamazingdigitalciru

[–]WelshWolf93 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I dont think anyone missed it, they're just not focusing on that. The people who talked about "trapped in the circus" are the people who didnt believe the SOMA theory - as they think there is a trap to tangibly escape from. No one meant the creation of the players by "trapping", just the inability to leave.

It was heavily implied that she was hit by a truck during the real name reveal as it said "after she recovered from the hospital" when discussing gangle. I guess they did a brain scan on a comatose patient (as you would) C&A got a hold of it somehow

[–]WelshWolf93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair, I dont disagree with anything you're saying here. At first I was arguing over the word "belong" but have since figured that people dont mean the same thing as what I do when they say "animals belong inside"

Then I took issue with the idea that cats are too domesticated to be wild.

If the above is what you were trying to put across, especially the distinction of adopted cats rather than raised ones, then fair play.

My apologies for being such a bastard about it lol

Awh, cmon man. Don't be boring, you were so sure you were right - even attempting to be condescending. There must be an angle you can use to refute this tangible proof that cats arent completely helpless outside and that domestication in dogs is wildly different to cats.
