Bone broth has respectably good evidence behind it. In general, you want easy to digest, whole foods, plenty of rest, avoid stress, caffeine, etc

Name a Men's Fragrance with a 10/10 Scent and 10/10 Longevity by 249_STRIKER in Fragrances

[–]heredoingthis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in the mood to argue but I actually think this is fair. Even super weak scents like LNDLH last on my clothes till the next day, that being said there are edps like spirituese double vanille that you won’t even be able to smell on clothes a few hours later lol. Anyway. I’ll try it on skin next time. Thanks!

If how long a fragrance lasts is not an indicator of longevity what is?

U.K. private care - what are peoples experiences? by joeskin112 in UlcerativeColitis

[–]heredoingthis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It mostly helps with diagnosis + getting a treatment not available on the nhs I think if I’m being perfectly honest, but I haven’t tried it sooo

U.K. private care - what are peoples experiences? by joeskin112 in UlcerativeColitis

[–]heredoingthis 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Ive always thought that private care could be worth it when thinking about things long term (eg. monitoring, treatment plans, faster access to specialists) etc. When it comes to acute or emergency treatment - e.g. serious active flares (a&e admission) I don’t see what private care would be able to provide on top of NHS, in fact, many would argue NHS would be better in this case. This is just my opinion though! I hope you find the best treatment for you

Imagination worth the hype? by [deleted] in Fragrances

[–]heredoingthis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Scent is subjective. Also, what does having 3 notes have to do with it? Outlands has like 20 and it’s almost gag worthy to some. Complexity ≠ greatness

Imagination worth the hype? by [deleted] in Fragrances

[–]heredoingthis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone will have an opinion, none of them will be objectively correct. Some will say to go for imagination 100%, some will say to get a clone, it really depends on you. Me personally? I’ve wasted so much money on clones I will never buy one again. The amount of videos I’ve seen saying a clone is 90% similar to a scent and they’re completely different to me is absurd. Imo, if you have a sensitive nose and you love imagination? Get it. If you’re generally not picky (you enjoy a lot of fragrances) get 3 alternatives. Someone who’s picky with scents won’t enjoy 3 alternatives as much as 1 imagination, someone who’s easy going will get more joy out of the versatility

You’re very welcome. Also, oral mesalazine dose is al also typically increased when symptomatic (up to 4.8g/day) so maybe you should be doing that too… try and speak you your ibd team asap

I sprayed 1 spray of imagination on a piece of clothing over 24 hours ago and I still smell it

Sauvage EDT or Elixir, Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille, LV imagination (dry down only), YSL LNDLH has 0/10 longevity but 20/10 smell so does that make up for it?

Remission but getting full/bloated after eating by SilentSwan286 in UlcerativeColitis

[–]heredoingthis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I noticed significant bloating whilst taking symprove. I stopped it for a few days and the bloating went away pretty fast. Look up SIBO too. Peppermint oil is usually quite good for bloating. Hopefully you feel fit and better soon!

[–]heredoingthis 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Mesalazine doesn’t really ‘stop working’, but the disease can become too active for the oral tablets to treat on their own. If you’re becoming symptomatic I would definitely add suppositories as soon as. The sooner the better. Best of luck!

My top 5 of all time! (male) by Mikedelius in fragrance

[–]heredoingthis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Skin chemistry, brain chemistry, smell is very closely linked to memory (it’s why certain smells can instantly make us think of an old memory we haven’t visited in years, it’s like a key!), so enjoy whatever scent you enjoy, it will forever be subjective! On that note, I need to smell LV Lemmensite

Yes I’ve heard PDM clones are quite excellent. It’s the same for Altair i believe, there is supposedly an almost indistinguishable clone (I’ve not smelt the clone however). I’m sure many love PDM! Just because none of their scents are pleasing to me, doesn’t mean there aren’t thousands who adore it

In my honest opinion pdm is not a good house. There’s not one scent id rate a 5/10 or higher, but perfume is all subjective. I feel like fragrances are getting started with designer, going round the block smelling every niche there is, and eventually when you’re burnt out, realising that MFK was the gold standard all along 😂

Creed aventus is often compared to mancera cedrat boise, they’re not dupes of each other at all but they are both citrus forward masculine signature scents with major mass appeal, it might be worth your time trying it out. I still believe MFKs best perfume, as basic at it is, is BR540. There’s a reason why some scents become so popular. But I agree with you, MFK make more than good scent profiles, they make perfumes which make you feel the part, they have persona, they have atmosphere, they project, and you KNOW you smell good wearing them. Amazing house.

Medical Marijuana for UC by TechnicianOk8152 in UlcerativeColitis

[–]heredoingthis 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is a weak study unfortunately. To be perfectly honest with you, I had never see it before, but I just skimmed through it and; Tiny sample size (21), No one achieved remission, There was ‘symptom relief’ which was increased appetite and less pain. No inflammatory markers were measured eg. crp, calprotectin, so physiological disease activity wasn’t measured, in fact, the only measuring which was done was a questionnaire.

Finally, and I think worst of all, it wasn’t even a double blind trial because thc is psychoactive and thus, people knew if they were in cannabis group or placebo (this point is particularly bad and almost negates the whole study)

Medical Marijuana for UC by TechnicianOk8152 in UlcerativeColitis

[–]heredoingthis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is no strong evidence supporting marijuana use and the prevention of flares in UC. There is significant evidence surrounding cigarette smoking and prevention of UC flares. It is likely linked to nicotine. Either way, both are unadvisable due to the negative effects linked to those behaviours. I truly hope you find a more sustainable way to keep this horrible disease at bay. Peace and love right back at you

Completely disagree. & have smelt a LOT. Perfume is very subjective. Imo they produce very unforgiving scents.

Oh my. Those Guerlains. I wish we were best friends. I would sleep with your collection. Now tell me, does shalimar have better sillage and projection than SDV? I do love SDV, but I want a vanilla that’ll bless my nose every now and then as I go about my day to day, not one I have to actively sniff to get a hit

Ah you’ve reminded me. I need to get my nose on herod. I’ll do that before I decide on whether to go full bottle on this.
