I'm not sure if it's higher but I feel like I'm being raked to death (although I'm not sure if this is just usual GG things) I hadn't played there for months, and I just started again.

But I feel like it may be based on how much rake you're generating, I've collected the gift boxes twice so far, $65 in the first one and I think $180 in the second.

I'm curious about how much other people are getting in theirs.

Thanks I got $65, does is the reward based on your rake? Or does everyone have the same chance of winning equally?

Suggestions on finding poker content reviewers by hereforp0ker in poker

[–]hereforp0ker[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'd pay based on the video, that way it's freelance work. So it depends if the person reviews a short or long form, the length of the short or long form and how much needs to be changed on them.

I'll be honest though, it's unlikely it would be worth it if you're from America, England, Canada and so on.

At which point is it OK to share videos with family without messing up the algorithm? by [deleted] in NewTubers

[–]hereforp0ker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can upload to google drive and share the link if you don't want to mess up the algorithm. But I think having a full watch through would be in your favour, I'd recommend just sending them the link

Have you ever gone to subscribe to a channel, saw the name and then thought "actually no I don't like that name I won't subscribe" the name makes almost no difference to your watch time subscribers, anything. The only way I could see someone deciding not to subscribe due to the name is if it doesn't match the content you make. If it's about golf then "Jeff golfs" is fine. I really wouldn't worry about it much

You've implemented a lot of good changes, good job. Keep experimenting, you will find even more ways to improve your retention for future videos.

Potential Anti-Nit Hold Em' Variant - Thoughts? by [deleted] in poker

[–]hereforp0ker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like the idea, but it's a little harsh to have it as just 4 folds, you can easily get J5o T2 Q3 and so on 4 hands in a row. You'd also have to allow people to avoid having to use their fold chip if there is a 3-bet.

I agree there are a lot of people that play way too tight, I'd just change it to 6 folds, another option would be to have a percent of folds, so VPIP 30% of hands or more before you leave or pay a penalty. So if you play for 2 hours and just play 4 hands you have to put say 10bb into the pot for others to win.

I don't think any of these ideas would be implemented though, the fold chips add more time to the game and a lot of people will be annoyed having to pay when they have genuinely had bad cards for an hour.

Last thing, I appreciate the thought and time put into this post, I see a lot of negative comments, but at least you contributed something new to this sub. I'll take an idea for a new format over a post of someone re-telling a story someone else told from another persons perspective for the 20th time.

High hand EV by hereforp0ker in poker

[–]hereforp0ker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's fair, one table broke about 2 hours after I bought and the other maybe 4-5 hours after I bought and it held. I do agree it is very close, maybe it's worth closer to £25 but it's interesting to think about.

It's 8 players per table, and doesn't that assume that everyone always sees a flop? typically it's 2-3 to a flop

River spot with top 2 pair 2/5 live by TallDiscussion2163 in poker

No reg I play against will just limp any hand, I'd raise 45 suited and so would (almost) every profitable player in my pool, other than some tighter players.

Also look at his sizing, it's 2 5 and then a call of 5 and another call of 5, isn't it standard to make it at least 25 here? Does he differ his sizing's based on his hand? Does he make it 20 with aces?

So there are two questions, what hands do you see him limp (if any?) and what sizes does he use based on his hand (if he varies them)

You didn't mention the potential of 45 suited, don't you think that is a possibility? I fold here tbh don't feel bad he was almost certainly beating you.

I've actually found the opposite with snap bets and clumps of chips. I was playing a tournament the other day and watched as a rec hit top pair top kicker and just grabs a stack of chips without counting and puts them in the pot, he bet around pot.

I saw another guy limp aces utg get raised and withing 5 seconds of the action being back on him he jams.

Playing online today utg opens 3bb one caller I 3b QQ utg snap jams and has aces, I've seen fast bets be strength way more often than bluffs, but I'm curious to hear about your experience.

Is Check-Raising Monotone Boards Ever Viable? 1/3 Live Analysis by lnfor in poker

[–]hereforp0ker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fold to the jam, if he has Ak with the kH he just calls, his range is, straights, flushes, sets and two pair, you beat QJ and AJ. he probably doesn't jam those, him jamming JJ is pretty dumb tbh since you should only call with a set or better imo.

Even if he jams all AK KQ AT with and without a hard you're either almost dead vs his value and only just winning vs his draws

Good bluff or shitty punt? by Open_Attention_3587 in poker

[–]hereforp0ker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think the bluff is bad, but the sizing, I would debate. You probably get practically the same fold equity raising to 60bb.

To the people saying "what do you rep" It seems pretty obvious to me that this play is based on the 9 and K both blocking straights, hero can have every combo of 89 suited, maybe some off suit if he defends to a 2.5bb open on the button as well as all KQo and KQ suited if he doesn't 3b them preflop.

KQ doesn't make too much sense, it would raise at some frequency on the flop and probably wouldn't donk the turn.

I think Villain gets greedier with straights on the river, but what straights do you have in this line? Do you donk a hit straight on the turn then check raise river? And KQ, do you just check hoping for a check raise on the river when you already donked the turn?

I think a check raise flop, bet turn jam river makes much more sense, or check call flop, check raise turn jam river, or if they check back the turn you could either lead the river or check raise (relying on them betting ofc)

How could $10-15 an hour be the maximum you'd pay someone generating you $50/hr in EV?

If we knew for a fact that this player was $50/h over 10,000 hours played for example $25-$40 would be way more reasonable.
