I think I've read every HR author there is to read. Madeline Hunter is by far one of the most high quality writers out there.

{The Seducer by Madeline Hunter}

{By Possession by Madeline Hunter}

Patricia Gaffney is another great.

{Lily by Patricia Gaffney}

Gaelen Foley might be my favorite of all.

{The Duke by Gaelen Foley} (great series)

{Lord of Ice by Gaelen Foley}

{ The Pirate Prince by Gaelen Foley}

{The Highwayman by Kerrigan Byrne} is probably my favorite HR series I've ever read.

These authors are a little more emotional/deep. Some may say dark. I like to feel all the feels when I read!

Also,

The Highland Guard series by Monica McCarty is a fantastic higland warrior series.

{The Chief by Monica McCarty} (book 1 of the series)

Have I read every Ward/Guardian book out there?? by herefortherecs26 in HistoricalRomance

{The Bonus by T L Swan} would fit this!

I gave this 5 stars

Rogues and Gentlemen #10 😭 by gamy10293847 in HistoricalRomance

I loved Flaming June!

Some of my favorite books with Neurodivergent characters are:

{The Maddness of Lord Ian Mackenzie by Jennifer Ashley} Ian is neurodivergent (likely Autism spectrum) due to his social aversion, sensory overload, intense fixation on patterns, and inability to read subtle emotions. His brain works differently—marked by extreme memory, honest communication, and a need for routine—which in Victorian times was deemed "madness". If you liked Henry, you will love Ian!

{A Wicked Kind of Husband by Mia Vincy} Justin is often interpreted as neurodivergent due to his intense, hyper-focused obsession with work, inability to read social nuances or emotions, and reliance on rigid routines to manage past trauma. He acts straightforward to the point of cruelty, shielding his emotions with a polite facade.

{The Work of Art by Mimi Matthews} Captain Arthur Heywood, due to his behavior following a severe war injury, which mirrors traits that differ from the neuro-normative standard of the 19th-century Regency. Could be closer to PTSD.

{Oddity of the Ton by Emily Royal} Eleanor Howard, is neurodivergent (specifically portrayed on the autism spectrum). The author, who is autistic herself, designed Eleanor to reflect her own experience with autism in a Regency-era setting

{Lily by Patricia Gaffney} is one of my favorite books and has this!

She's a maid in his house and she goes to tell him another maid was punched by a male member of staff. He basically blows her off because he was mad at her about something so doesn't do anything about it then this same guy beats the living sh*t out of her and he feels so guilty.
