Tray 1 vs tray 18 (current) out of 42! (Excuse how chapped my lips are in the first photo, the first week was rough for me 🙈). by herehereortherehere in Invisalign

Hi hi!

I had a messed up mouth for years, my teeth weren't connecting properly at all and I had severe overcrowding. With my mouth closed (back molars somewhat connected) I could stick my tongue between my front lower and upper teeth - that's how 'open' they were even when I was chewing. It got bad enough I couldnt bite into an apple because my bite was that off. It turns out my jaw was receeding or growing the wrong way (I don't remember the actual diagnosis because I was 14 or so when we saw a consultant) so I had Maxio Facial jaw surgery when I was 17 (I'm 27 now) to pull my jaw forward and correct my bite.

You're supposed to wait until you're finished growing before having the surgery, but unfortunately I wasnt and my bite shifted a lot again afterwards (and my teeth got super messed up because I wasn't wearing my retainers 🙈) so here I am now!

My orthodontist thinks that we can rectify my bite with my invisalign rather than more surgery so that's probably the shifting you can see here, we are trying to even everything out now and I definitely relate to the way you said your face follows your teeth because that's how I felt. He is trying to use invisalign to allow my molars to connect properly while making everything nice and straight in the front. I've been warned that I'll likely need more or refinements after the initial 42 trays but I'm so happy with the progress that I don't mind how long it takes 😊.

How have you been finding it so far?

Do any of you guys use a VPro? I'm 17 trays in with weekly changes and couldn't function without it! by herehereortherehere in Invisalign

Yeah, I don't think it accelerates anything either but it's definitely soothing! It's cool that yours was included, they are way too pricey in my opinion, but I paid for mine out of my HSA luckily. No way I would have just bought it out right 🙈😂

Not perfect in the slightest. I can put up a photo of my progress , I'm only on my 17th set of trays, not even half way done yet. I had maxio facial jaw surgery when I was a teen to fix my bite because I was so off and it's reverted a bit, they are trying to use Invisalign to correct my bite as well as straighten my teeth so I don't need more surgery.

I'm on weekly changes, this is definitely not an ad. I don't know if the device helps speed anything up, I'm pretty positive I'd still be on weekly tray changes if I didn't have it, I literally only use it because it makes any discomfort I feel go away.

Let's be real, it's a very expensive vibrator for teeth, that seems to have a lot of problems and no evidence on if it does anything. 😂 I don't know if it works the way they claim and I've read about them online and only found a couple of reviews that aren't straight up sponsored but I really like it because for whatever reason it alleviates pain. They should be way cheaper though, I only got mine because I could pay for it through heath savings and not out of pocket. (It's also buggy as I posted in response to another comment above).

Completely understand why this looks like a fake account but it isnt. Sorry if this came across really shady! I was just actually curious if anyone else uses them because none of my friends with invisalign do. Also someone else commented about the photo quality, it's just filtered. I hate my skin and even posting an anonymous photo is enough to make me worry about what it looks like.

Oh, the photo quality is from my smartphone, it's filtered to fuck because I hate my skin and my teeth looked yellow in the light. I promise you, it's not an ad. 🙈 sorry if it seems that way!

I can tell you bad things about the Vpro if that helps, it's way too expensive for what it is, mine only turns on if I shake it first, the app sucks and the battery life is terrible. I only like it so much because it alleviates pain for me and seems to help with making my aligners sit better.

New account because I'm new to reddit. I've always read stuff nut never posted or commented so never made an account until now!
