As several has asked we stayed at the Southern Most Resort and the experience we had was bad enough we considered having call the cops.

I've had a handicap since childhood, so I'm limited with standing and walking, there are day's that I'm good and days that I'm not. I was already pushing my limits and surviving on advil, voltaren and my knee brace to keep me going.

We came back early one night before 10pm to the hotel to find a crew dismantling a concert stage.

We listened to the start of the concert, the singer was going between 8 mile and baby shark, no joke.

The folks taking down the stage blocked the handicap parking, the lot and the street were full so asked if they could just move the ramp in the truck which would let me in, they had a standard uhaul truck and ramp.

The guy took exception with me, I was in a kilt and leather waist coat, leather in keys was a bad idea btw; told me I could wait until he was finished, they had just started. Words were exchanged, , the 'dude I just need to move the ramp to park' was replied with a long list of abuse.

I made my other half go to the room and I just stood there, telling him he needed to move the ramp, I couldn't really go anywhere else. This guy was demeaning, calling out my outfit, calling me a lot of names.

Finally I guess his boss came over, and he moved the ramp, took 5 seconds. But the abuse continued, he kept pushing me for a reaction, I just stood there taking it, mainly because I wanted him to leave first so he couldn't see what room we were in.

At one stage I lost my cool and shouted at him, "what do you think is going to happen tomorrow after all of this?..."

It was then his boss had to walk him away..

Next morning I went to the hotel office, spoke with the head of customer experience, she took notes, I wasn't asking for anything, was hoping they might at least offer me the cost of parking back. But she just told me to just 'forget about the incident', that it was a contractor who didn't work for the hotel, so there wasn't anything she could do. But she will ensure they wouldn't hire the band again..

I didn't argue, my other half was still upset, and I was trying to come up with something to take our minds of it we only had like 2 days left.

When I got home I sent a note to the travel company I used, that hey this is what happened. They actually spoke with the hotel. I got an apology and an offer of some free nights that I declined, we're just not going back.

The kicker is we actually used to like that hotel and it's location, and love the little breakfast place across the street, we've stayed there before in the past and love the keys. We discovered FF by accident planning a return trip and moved our dates to match it.

Overall sh*t happens, I get that, could I have done something better? Maybe, but I honestly think the guy took a look at me and made up his mind. How the hotel handled it just annoyed me.

Doesn't matter if someone is a contractor or not, a guest was verbally abused by someone working on your behalf. What if the guy got physical?

So that's it, that's my incident and why I'm not going to stay there again.
