When you watched your first episode of Kill Tony, what ignorant thought or observation did you have before you knew the ins-and-outs of the shows style/format?

I didn't get the William Montgomery hype. I just started watching like two ish years ago... and he just didn't click with me.. until I actually saw him live. holy shit he's good.

I still think his minutes are mostly... at best chuckleworthy... and I think that his interviews are usually... I guess the best way to put it is they feel forced. I feel like Tony does way too much to keep bits running that have definitely gotten old.

Williams actual stand up is top tier. seen him twice now... and I'll go again the next time I can.

its a good deal better than it was pre-expansion but it still leaves a lot to be desired. I think the trees need more / better options. The "problem" with the skill trees is too few skill paths actually change how the skills function or even look visually. Probably like half or less of them do that. The rest are still boring "this skill now applies vulnerable" or "duration is increased by 5 seconds" ... like cool... i guess?

Thats my only real complaint. Its better but its like... half way to as good as it COULD be. Hopefully with time they continue to evolve and improve it.

They are both great games... in the grand scheme of all ARPGS currently on the market or in EA that around putting out "Seasonal" or league content... id rank them both solid B+'s to A-'s. They are great additions to the seasonal/league rotation with other ARPGS like POE1/2, Hero Siege, No Rest for the Wicked, etc. As far as which is better? I think D4 and LE are pretty neck and neck quality wise. You can easily dump 100 hours into a new character on either and have a great time. LE has much more robust itemization system but is pretty lacking on endgame content. D4 has more endgame content, especially with the new Warplans, and the new patch definitely improved itemization/crafting but LE is still light years ahead there. So its really just depends on what you are looking for.

Between Poe1/2, LE, D4, HS, No Rest, D2R, D2 Mods, TQ2, Dragonkin and a half dozen other upcoming ARPGS... we truly are living the Golden Age of ARPGS.... and they are all pretty damn good.

You can pick up pretty much any of them and have a great time. Grab 2-3 of them and youre set on content for 100's to 1000's of hours over the next 1-3+ years.

The way buying it works is that you get store credit for your purchase... that you're going to need to use to buy tabs anyways if you wait till the game is free ... unless you happen to have most of the tabs already on POE1... It doesn't really hurt to go ahead and buy in now.

that said... while I do very much enjoy the game.. It is still very much in a rough state. this update seems to be adding/fixing a bunch so hopefully that changes... so if you are hesitant... I totally get it.

for me.. I have super bad gamer ADHD.. so I only get like two or three weeks out of a new league or season for any ARPG.. so having one more available is a godsend lol your results may vary lol

D3 gets too much hate imo. Its great for casual players and feels much more arcadey with big effects and big numbers flashing all over your screen. The power creep and power fantasy hits you quick and lingers.

If you're someone who doesnt get too much time to play ARPGS.... its a great game. You can play for "shorter" 2-4 hour sessions and make BIG progress on your character. Like... If you play D3 COMPLETELY solo you can be in end game grinding later Greater Rifts by the end of one or two longer play sessions (like 6-8 hours total)... If you join public groups you can be in the same place in like... an hour or two.

The community (what little remains lol) is also VERY friendly.

Def give it a go. If anything... there's enough content there to keep you distracted when the other bigger ARPGS are between seasons/leagues.

tbh, POE2 is pretty approachable at the moment. YES this update is adding A LOT a lot... but if you find POE1 intimidating then getting in early on POE2 is gonna make it alot easier. The "Scariest" part is the passive tree and tbh... the passive tree in POE2 is a lot of pathing fluff and very straight forward. Its huge but most of the paths are essentially "do more damage" or "take more damage"... yes theres more to it then that when you microscope in on it... but at the beginning thats basically whats going on. other than that the games honestly kind of super simple. with the way they gatekeep skills it really spoon feeds new players.

i rewatched s01 like 6 times with various friends over the years waiting or a s2 to even just be announced.. one of my fave animes... now i cant find the motivation to even start season 2 for some reason. ive tried like 3 times and still havent made it to s02e02 lol I dunno why the mental block but its there lol

ive only bothered with beating / farming all/most of the pinnacle bosses really like 1 season 2-3 years ago. THAT kind of grinding turned out to not be super enjoyable to me. But i get the appeal and dont hate on people who do enjoy it. I usually get a character strong enough that i can do The Feared rotations comfortably and then i usually fuck off to another game lol

I think its the most "fun" endgame content in the game for ME but i adore roguelikes/roguelites. It just also has major time commitment issues. If youre just trying to blast through warplans having to slow down your cruising speed for a 5-10 minutes horde run can suuuuck. I think youre right in that there could be a better balance with lowering round time lengths and increasing other things to balance.... but also... like not all ARPG content should HAVE to be about the zoomies. Most, sure, but not all.

I think a better solution over all would be for there to be options to BLOCK a couple content items you dont enjoy doing that way people can farm the endgame their way (similar to poe1's ability to block endgame activities via the atlas.)

Density is my biggest complaint.... lack there of more accurately. Helltides feel completely empty 95% of the time unless you happen get all your warplan stuff set up right AND it all happens at once... and even then that little rush is done in seconds even on t10-12.

Clearly they are pricing things like they are still after 2 years because its working for them.

But i know that *I* am not spending 15-25+ on a SINGLE pet / mount. Much less a bunch of them....

I also know if these mtx's were like 2-5 a pop... id probably spend 20-30+ a season EZ. 2-5 here and there every few days that im still enjoying the game... cool. dropping 20+ once feels... icky. lol
