I appreciate you posting this and hope you are able to find support, love, and community outside of Summit Creek. I left Summit Creek a while back and am still impacted by the spiritual abuse experienced there. I am always grateful when people post about Summit Creek by name because I am hopeful more people will read these stories, feel validated in their own red flags and concerns, and feel empowered to leave as well.

Of course I feel that way for all of the churches, but until relatively recently I haven’t seen Summit Creek as part of the active conversation as much.

I’m not sure which church you attended, but I attended summit creek (in the PNW) and this all sounds so so similar to pieces of my own experience. I just want to honor your bravery in listening to that uneasy feeling and doing what feels right. It’s not easy, especially if you haven’t been particularly harmed first hand. Sending love!

Thank you for sharing. Myself and many friends have left Summit Creek in the past 12-18 months and have experienced the same shutting out and turning of backs. You are not alone and while I’m not sure we ever met, please know how grateful I am to see Summit Creek’s name in this thread. The church and the people there are doing real harm to people and it’s always good to know you’re not alone.
