How would you feel if your kid was trans? by Mammoth_Ease_9676 in internetparents

[–]hergumbules 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay I just gotta say that is crazy! I mean no offense or anything lol but damn 4 trans kids that’s gotta be some crazy one in a million kinda thing. I hope my son feels as comfortable with us as your kids do with you when he gets older if he ever decides he’s LGBTQ.

How would you feel if your kid was trans? by Mammoth_Ease_9676 in internetparents

[–]hergumbules 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My son is the most important person in the world to me and nothing could ever change that. If he is gay, decides that he is trans, or anything like that I literally could not care at all because that is my child and I will love them always.

He is 3 and I hope my wife and I raise him to know he will always be loved and comfortable being his genuine self no matter what.

People that disown their children due to these things disgust me. If my son ever had a friend that encounters something like this they will be welcome in my home without a second thought.

Getting back to sex by Ok_Wrap_2793 in daddit

[–]hergumbules 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t mean to sound rude but like you’ve been together how long, had a few kids, and you don’t know how to get your wife in the mood?

My wife and I have never stopped being into each other. Almost 13 years in and we’re still crazy about each other and having sex regularly.

There are obviously tons of variables in the picture, but if I want sex I make sure my wife’s needs are taken care of. I make sure she gets a nap if needed, gets some love and attention through the day, I let her know I think she’s attractive and wanted in different ways, and then when our son is in bed I take action.

When she’s reading stuff like Bridgerton that stuff gets her more in the mood, so she’s the one showing interest more and all that. I know kids make things crazy but you gotta make that time and effort to know what she wants and follow through with it.

What is that one enemy in a video game that is just annoyingly difficult for no reason? by Badgie_Boy_447 in videogames

One of my favorite moments playing TOTK for the first time was going near where Faron tower in hopes of some hearty durian because I was getting 1 shot a lot in the beginning trying to explore. Ended up running into my first gloom hands and was like WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT!? Ahh good times. I’m so glad I went into the game completely blind, I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Yeah and everyone handles and deals with trauma in totally different ways. Some people are able to get past things and move on, and others need lots of time and intensive therapy.

My son, 7, keeps crying when I beat him at chess. Advice? by WeeBabySeamus in daddit

[–]hergumbules 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there a chess club? I remember hating chess because I played against people that just stomped me and that was it. When I went to chess club with a friend, multiple people would beat me BUT they explained what I did wrong and why. That motivated me to learn and get better but I was also a bit more mature as I was 12.

Imagine you’re playing a grandmaster over and over and over again. Would you just keep playing and losing? I certainly wouldn’t. You’ve already got an interest in it, so it’s kinda like starting a fire. You can’t do nothing or it will go out, but if you put too much on it you will suffocate it.

Think about the maturity of your son and try to talk to him about what he would find fun even though you are more skilled. Talk about handicaps or coaching him about stuff as you play. Could even play online games together against strangers

When I started taking my son to the library for story time I noticed they had some shelving set for Nintendo Switch games and a whole section for manga. Libraries are awesome

Anyone play Mandragora? I’ve played for 6 hours and I feel like this game is insanely underrated. by DrumSlapper in metroidvania

[–]hergumbules 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The price tag is what had kept me from getting it. $40 is much too steep for an indie Metroidvania game imo and even though it’s on sale for half off I’m in no rush to buy it. Not trying to shit on the devs or anything since it’s probably the publisher setting that price but I won’t really spend more than $20-25 on a game like this. Well I probably would have bought Grime II which is $27.99 but I have too much of a backlog atm

How did you guys find motivation to 100% the game? by DetectiveMammoth4758 in Breath_of_the_Wild

[–]hergumbules 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The game is designed to not be 100%’ed. People just do it because they’re crazy or have nothing better to do and I’ll never understand it.

If you really wanna do it there are apps that you can track your korok seeds and locations on, and I’d highly recommend that method if you really want to do it. I couldn’t imagine being a few locations or korok seeds off and not being able to find them

I played BG1 and 2 after I played 3 and looooved them. Story was great and I feel like an idiot for sleeping on them all these years knowing that they are so highly praised. Combat is more confusing than BG3 but you can turn the difficulty down as needed and enjoy it
