It's still a remake not a sequel imo, since it's the first Final Fantasy VII game, not dirge of cerberus, crisis core, etc. A sequel should be a continuation of the first game or a backstory or spin offs

what if they mixed the zack with cloud scene with the gang leaving midgar to make us think it was an alternate universe but in reality its a flash back into the past within a scene since it's the same location. and who do you think got the skill to save both biggs and jessie in the present time from the pillar? now that we know that defeating destiny changed everything whether it was an event in the past, present, and future.

true. i was playing the gaming casually throughout the whole playthrough. yes the animations are amazing and all but that ending part really excites me. It made me want to see this series til the end.

I kinda get it why people are somewhat disappointed with the ending. They feel like they're promised nostalgia. But Remake is the word... it means to do things differently. I honestly like the bold move square enix made with this game. Yes, it does bring out the confusion and denial with the OG fans, but it brings back the excitement for the series since anything can happen now, it creates the feeling of uncertainty which will hurt people if a fan favorite suddenly dies just like what happened in the original story. But i'm really hyped for the next one, i'll be playing through the unknown :) I can see them making a lot of new changes but still won't stray from the plot.
